I was just thinking that nearly every forward has the potential to reach 15 goals.
Lets do some Goal predictions (a lot depends on how the lines shake out) :
Crosby = 33
Malkin = 38
Hornqvist = 27
Kessel = 46
Perron = 24
Kunitz = 14
Dupuis = 16
Bonino = 12
Fehr = 17
Plotnikov = 13
Bennett = 11
Sundqvist = 8 - YouMeAndDupuis9
I think this is pretty accurate given how we think the lines are going to shake out. Fehr maybe a little less as he's going to miss time most likely. |

That's what my cousin said. Graduated with a 3.5 from Bucknell and became a green beret haha. Some people just have that drive in them and don't ever want to see a cubical. - usethe1-2-2
Yeah, I hate my job. It's hard going from being physically active all day to sitting at a desk. I actually feel more tired doing this after a day than being on my feet. I lived with one guy in my company that was a former NASA engineer that got fired for sending a fake package of anthrax to his boss. He was a raging alcoholic that could do triathlons after a night of drinking. There's all sorts of society misfits like that in those units. |

Good point....but that would be 259 goals scored by forwards. Compared to about 179 last season. |

Hardnosed, Sutter, Grinder, and Adams are probably 12 deep at some bar right now lamenting the good ol' days. - Victoro311
Hanging out with two former Penguins and another fan of the team? Sounds like a good time to me.

Still defending him?
13 even strength goals last year. 7 shorthanded goals = not sustainable production.
Clutch is a good player that elevates even more in big games/moments. Clutch is not a player that coasts through the regular season and then actually puts in effort in the postseason. |

Evidently not as clutch as Bonino as he has more points in fewer postseason games than Sutter. |

Let's take it a step further with the D points. Obviously again, not sure where they'll slot outside top 4 but lets pretend Lovejoy, Dumo, Scuds and Glendening are all going to play a full year of #5-6 dman hockey at the same time.
Letang-65
Maatta-48
Pouliot-42
Cole-39
Lovejoy-18
Dumoulin-21
Scuderi-14
Glendening-17
EDIT: I could see Franson hitting mid-high 30's as well |

Unlike so many here, I'm a fan of the TEAM. I don't have an agenda. I'm not trying to "smart" my way to a part-time "consultant" job presenting actual hockey people with hockey Excel printouts for them to ignore.
Sutter is gone. Like I said yesterday, I wish him well and I think he'll flourish in Vancouver.
All I ever argued was that the guy was unnecessarily scapegoated, and that he was a great example of fancy stats failing to properly quantify a player.
I like to keep things in perspective, and calling one of my own players juvenile names is something I'm just not immature enough to do, whether it was F Sutter or Suckturd.
I am also man enough to admit when I'm wrong - I didn't believe he'd be traded this offseason and he was.
The same can not be said for other posters and especially regarding a writer on this site, such as last season's 4 months of thinly veiled MAF jabs and then radio silence on the issue. |

You honestly think effort was the issue during the down months? That's hilarious.

Ehh.. not really if you think about it. Going off averages from the past few years and adding a few points to compensate all the offense we should have. Pouliot is optimistic, but I can see him hitting the 40 total.
Edit: and this is with a fully healthy season out of each. Cole is a little optimistic too. |

I think youre a bit high on every one of them. Though if the forwards project the way they do, I guess the points will add up. Tang = 50 / Maatta = 42 / Pouliot = 30 / Cole = 22....everyone else less than 20. |

You think Glendening can make the move to defense and still put up 17 points? Also, isn't he on Detroit still? |

If I am wrong it is lack of skill mixed with luck in small sample sizes. Consistency is either tied to effort or skill. Which are you saying?

I never said he was the second coming of Jordan Staal. Really, I didn't opine on him much until the asinine suggestion that he could be replaced by Marcel Goc. |

No I have barely watched anything of significance on Bonino. Probably not much different than you or most other Pens fans. But I can understand basic math perfectly well and I know which player has been more productive in recent years and that is likely to produce better results.
BTW, we're all fans of the TEAM. I am a fan of 'Murica too. Doesn't mean we won't constructively criticize things if they obviously can be improved upon. |
