yeah dish has a sports package and it gives you all of the foxsports regional channels and they are all always blacked out....wtf is the deal with that? oh yeah they want me to pay for center ice. not happening. not when then blues games are blacked out, which makes no sense, even for the contracts signed.
i have to get the largest non premium channel package to watch the two three blues games on nbc sports.
so yeah it has been nice saving fifty bucks a month without those channels. - BluemanGuruu i have direcTv and it gives me aII the sports networks(2nd highest package w/o movie channeIs. its Iike 80 bucks a month. spit with my roommate that aint bad. I get fsmw and never miss a hockey game and a few times a season i get free nhI center ice. so now that i wiII be home at night i wiII get aIot of free games this season.

How Olzykfkjlas;lkdfj got a national color commentary gig is beyond me. He's terrible.
I don't mind Foley. I've lived in the Blues, Kings, and Blackhawks market. Ranking the voices that I've listened to over the years:
Dan Kelly
Ken Wilson
Pat Foley
John Kelly
Jim Fox
Nothing against John Kelly, I just don't think he's all that great. - eggsegan
I love Bob Miller. He was great in college hockey in the 60s before taking over the Kings play by play 40+ years ago. I am not a fan of his color commentator, Jim Fox though.
How about Joe Michelltei? I always liked him as a color commentator. |

my dish cost is far cheaper, more reliable and unlike direct tv they do not rake me over the coals if i happen to move. i moved twice and they wanted me to pay each time. like a sucker i did the first time the second time i said no way just come out and do it. they offered me $20 then $50 off $180 moving install fee when the home already had a direct tv sat.
a week after the kind people at dish came and installed my stuff direct tv offered me a free install. i knew they would but they screwed up. since then every ther month they have offered to buy me out of contracts and all this free crap. i just keep thinking yeah but when i was a loyal customer you could not be bothered to treat me right. |

reaIIy, i have not had those problems. They have been nothing but accommodating for me. i move and they try charge me and i argue the biII and get free stuff from it. i have toId them fIat out that if they charged me for a move i wouId Ieave and they wouId see no money from me at aII ever again. I guess they chose to give me the free move and keep coIIecting from me. |

Joe Michaeletti is a tremendous color man. Hated seeing him leave St. Louis. |

From a broadcasting perspective, the Blues have had some good talent come through the organization, with Micheletti, Wilson, etc announcing from the old barn... |

including Dan Kelly, the best that's ever been.
They've also had some really bad ones over the years.
Anyone remember the year Ron Jacober did Blues hockey? That was brutal. There could have been a 10-zaboni pile up at center ice and he would have missed it.
Honorable mentions go out to Dan Dierdorf and Noel Picard.

I thought our skating would get better with Oshie getting traded, but it looks like everyone took Oshie's power skating lessons this offseason....... |

I haven't moved for 5 years, but I don't recall directv ever mentioning a charge for moving and i certainly was never charged for it.

well i moved after nine months the last time after five months the first time. i paid the fee the first time because i figured i moved so quickly my bad. the second move was to the home i purchased. i was not planning and have not moved since.
the girl on the phone was a bit of not nice person. i said if that is your final offer i will send your box back.
dish has so far been great to me. and i can pay them in bitcoin. and honestly the only reason i have sat and not just internet is because i live out in the deep sticks and i have sat internet as well. sat internet is not all that great. otherwise no reason for cable or sat tv any lnger. amazon prime, plus hbo go and viveo or whatever it is called. when i was stationed at places and hockey games were blacked out i could always find an internet feed. now nhl and mlb will not block out internet games. so if i lived in the city no cable for me. nothing but garbage on most channels anyway. the news is a joke. reality tv this and that for everything.
damn it is slow on the hockey front. wish they would just charge Kane already so the blackhawks cannot escape their fate. |

I really hope it's not true for the good of the victim, but I really hope it is true so I can see Blackhawks fans cry about losing one of their golden boys. Can I have it both ways? |

god i hate puck daddy and st. louis game time. notice the authoer mentions to never forget that jackman beat out some greats to win rookie of the year. ugh. one of the worst award votings of all time. - BluemanGuruu
At the time, with the way that the game was played, he looked like the total package. A rookie d-man that could punish players, stick up for teammates, and keep the front of the net clear, and read the game well? I'm in!
Now, defensemen must be more responsible positionally, be able to make a good first pass, be quick, and do those other things. Jackman looks like a dinosaur. Think of how much teams valued Hal Gill. Once the game changed, he became obsolete.
How many defensemen that were stalwarts of the 80s and 90s could play in today's game? Could McSorley? Could Kjell Samuellson? Could Darian Hatcher? Stephane Quintal? Lyle Odelein?
I piled on Jackman as much as the next guy. When he won the award, I was excited to see him grow into a player in the mold of Scott Stevens. Maybe I was deluded by fandom, but he seemed to have the leadership. |

He DID have the leadership. Ask members of the Blues organization about Jackman in a one on one setting. You will be amazed at some of what you hear.
Something like - Is the player who played with the worst injuries of any player and played at times when nobody else on the team would have.
He may not have had the skill needed to be as effective in the new nhl version as the old clutch and grab style but the issue wasn't effort, leadership or desire.
