Well (frank) me - rambling on with HB 'facts' again. That makes a lot more sense, no one made that point the other day! Well now he can be seen as Harro's replacement - my apologies Gunner.

I knew I had heard that when we were talking about it, but you were pretty adamant so I just assumed I was wrong. Oh well, that solves that.

I love Dupuis and Kunitz. They've been great Penguins and I think they'll be key contributors, but not trying out the new blood in Plotnikov, a younger winger who showed flashes in Perron, or a healthy (hopefully) Bennett in the top six because you want to go back to the tried and true of yester year is as big as a mistake as completely counting out Kunitz and Dupuis as top 6 forwards. We need to go with what works, regardless of what that is. If that's a Dupuis-Crosby-Fehr first line then I'll be just as happy as if it were a Hornqvist-Crosby-Kessel line like I want. It's just flat out stupid not try absolutely everything with the insane amount of options that we all of a sudden have.

whoooa boy whoooa

I think training camp and the first 1/4 season should sort it out. but the elder haters need to chill. plus who knows how long before 3 of our "top 6" are out with injury.

Yes I saw that somewhere & did a HB check. May have been in the Nucks blog comments that he was 1-way. But yes that makes more sense although with my trade theory it gave hope to a impending Scuds trade.

I want it to be more fluid than that. I'm pretty pro semi-regular line shuffles until the stretch. Once the stretch hits, we should have a good feel over who works best together and start really cementing that chemistry for the playoffs. Plus, if we're shuffling lines throughout the season, we can more comfortably do that during the playoffs if Magic Mike needs to make an adjustment due to match ups like Q does in Chicago and Disco never did.

I don't have time now but if someone has nothing to do, a comparison with the charts to our Pens & the Hawks & Kings teams would be interesting. Also, would show us numbers disbelievers (I like stats but just think a few you guys rely on are flawed), the huge difference between our bad team & their champion teams.

Anyone interested? With what Ryan showed us we have 2 of top players already.

the second those lines start to score you will be

did duper spit on your dog?

- ChrisMS

No, just factor in his age, injuries and the other guys we have, he should not see top 6...

Also, I had to put down both my dogs within the last month

Sorry about your dog. I think my girlfriend's dog is coming up soon. Tumor in some gland in its butt. It's a super sad time...

I'm not putting down money that Dupuis and Kunitz stick in the top 6, but like I said, its dumb not to try everything.

You might not like it, but one of Dupuis or Kunitz will likely be in the top 6 until one of the other options prove they can be capable in that role.
- jfkst1

How are others suppose to prove they can play top 6 if you are always going to slot kuni and duper in there bc they played well 2-3 yrs ago.. is the DB??

perron sid kessel
plot geno horn
kuni bonino duper (if he is even able to play come start of season)
sheary sund Bennett
Wilson/rust

not including fehr, since he is out till dec

I am a cat man... but I sincerely apologize for the unfortunate analogy.

If duper works well with kessel cros and allows pens to role deeper third lline... why not? if he dont... no biggie. crosby and him seem to work well together...
hell... robbie brown worked well with mario... you never know

my deepest sympathies.

As victoro said, whoever establishes themself as the best fit should play regardless of age or team history. Sorry about the dogs.

ya both just turned 10, my wife's dog went day 2 of my deployment, her and kids were wrecked and me of course.. my dog went last Thursday with a tumor in his stomach that built up in a 3 week time frame... I think he was depressed bc other dog died and we moved last month so he had to be kenneled for like 23 days..

So I will come home to a new house, and no pets... and a walking talking baby lol... going to be weird

edit: thanks everyone for the condolences, sorry to bring the blog down haha

No one knows if Plotnikov can even play at the NHL level, much less as a top 6 winger. It's a great low risk/high reward move by management bringing him in and I hope he is successful, but no way am I expecting him to play in the top 6.

EDIT: BTW, Philly re-signed Vorachek for 8 years and $64m.

exactly, the first few weeks of the season are for trying out new things... if it doesn't work it doesn't hurt the team.. so if he stinks with malkin drop him to 3rd and bring kuni, Bennett or who ever is playing well..

but not trying new things is what hurt DB.. ie status quo > Iggy

Listening to the games Scuds isn't that bad. It's just his contract that is a problem. But yes I follow you, Sutter hits more than Bonino & scored more with less advantageous starts (I believe if that what is fact - HB fact again by the Nucks fans), but so much worse! Their blogger even said Bonino is soft on the puck - that was one of THE biggest arguments on here by some??

I'll have to wait till tonite when I'm sitting back on the lounge to look at the comparisons (no doubt it won't be on here if there are compatibles that give us an advantage - or just the ones that show us as crap ).

What was that comment - indirect responses!
