He is 30 now and likely has only one more BIG contract left. So I would assume he is going for a bigger payday.

Also it's been heavily reported Boston offered multiple contracts in that range and Dougies agent never responded/ countered. Let it go. MTL winning the cup or not is completely irrelevant, didnt say anything about the Habs... but there are a few teams better than Boston in the east, Habs included, cup or no cup, bud

plus they still need to move bickell and versteeg to become cap compliant after signing kruger and the 7th defenseman... so yeah, he was right.

Let me get this straight:

-Boston doesn't want to give Dougie Hamilton the 5.5 million he's getting from Calgary.

-Boston trades Hamilton to Calgary for assets. People in Boston start smear campaign of Hamilton, claims he's got a bad rep to justify trade.

-Boston courts all possible UFA dmen.

-As a last resort Boston is now offering assets (same ones gotten in Hamilton trade?) for Byfuglien who is older and more expensive than Hamilton who also has a bit of a bad rep.

Why did they just not KEEP HAMILTON!?!?!?

We got plenty to be proud of, including a Bruins team that will return to its Cup contender form as it had been for the previous 4 seasons, and I'm confident we'll see another Cup in Boston soon. The Pats are awesome, as you know, and the greatest team and QB in the history of the game will be defending their 4th Superbowl. Good luck actually beating someone next post-season, you'll need it. Hope you're not a Jets fan

We lost our best D-man AND out best future potential player in Hamilton.

Kinda simple if you think about it. Hamilton isn't Bobby Orr or Nick Lidstrom or Ray.

But, he is 22 and has more "potential" upside than any player the Bs have right now..........simple.

And he was our best D-man last season........simple.

We need to replace him......simple.

Trading Hailton was a pointless move. Lucic only sealed the rivalry destruction. Rinaldo is a non factor.
