This is going to get messy.

He has done a decent job of keeping himself out of serious trouble since the cab incident.

Sexual assault is not to be taken lightly. If he gets charged there will be some sort of evidence but if not its either the girl got hammered and has a boyfriend or is looking for a payday.

I will wait for the facts to come out.

Yeah, that's exactly how it should work. When I worked as a cashier and was on the express line, if someone came over with what was clearly way over the amount I would politely tell them that it was the express lane and they needed to move to one of the other lanes instead.
