Hey im not discrediting your experience. I have however rolled stop signs warranting a pull over in front of a cop in buffalo and breezed by. Speeding doesnt seem to be a big concern of theirs either - ieetbred
They have so many thugs in this city they can't be bothered with little stuff.

I'm amazed at the flak Vancouver is getting for the Sutter contract.
He's a 3rd liner that scored 21 goals and is still in his twenties. What do you expect to sign him for?
Matt Beleskey has one decent season on a great team and get's about 500k less per year and the Bruins get praised - sbroads24
i Have always liked sutter he plays the game right .. too bad his brothers suck |

He's an average 3rd liner. He's proven over the past 3 years he can score a little bit. I just love how people who are so loyal to possession numbers can lack so much context in there opinions |

That's going to change. The City of Buffalo couldn't operate like the surrounding suburbs. There was something in the law that didn't allow them to plea offenders down to parking violations (thereby keeping the fine money instead of giving it to the state) like the suburban jurisdictions could. They just won a court case that changed that. You will see more drivers pulled over by Buffalo Police soon. |

That trade wasn't as one-sided as everyone wants it to be. |

The division is nowhere near out of reach for the Jays right now. The pitching will have to dig deep, though, outside of Price, of course. |

The reason that the Sutter trade/signing gets so much flak is that he really is not a strong player in any regard with the exception of his individual goal scoring. In fact, he even makes his line mates worse:
As the top chart shows, his teammates possession numbers get worse when playing with him both offensively and defensively. Now the bottom chart shows that he somehow managed to avoid getting scored on a lot, despite giving up a (frank)ton of shots against (which helped make him a positive +/- player) while also not helping his teammates score any goals, thus showing he has almost zero playmaking ability.
Now compare Sutter with Bonino:
You can see that Bonino beats Sutter in every category with the exception of playing time and Goals against/60 (which still is not a large drop off). Sutter is best known for his goal scoring and even there Bonino scored at a higher rate when the ice time each player saw was taken into account.
The result that Pittsburgh received Bonino in the trade as well as assets for a lesser player is why Pitt killed that trade. And also why I am super happy we have Murray as our GM and not Benning |

Having said all that, this is still a trade of 3rd line centers (although Benning views Sutter as a second line core player) that will not have a drastic impact on the fortunes of either team.
The idea that Benning would pay Pitt to take the better player is simply baffling to me. |

Nice analysis there Matt, thanks for doing so.
Must say the orientation of the top graph is weird...normally the worse than/worst than quadrant is in the bottom left, with the Top Right the Better than/Better than quadrant...took me a second glance to notice it. Weird. |

Would you pay Drew Stafford that much to play the third line? Because Drew Stafford is a more offensively productive player scoring at a third line pace on this team. |

It has started already. 500 speeding tickets on the 198. See a cop has pulled someone over near ontario/skillen street almost every day. |

this is good information to know.. i am actually heading back to Buffalo "area" tonight for the weekend. are they going crazy on the 90 or 400 pulling people over too? there is that section of the 400 that is 55 (i think) right at the 90. I typically drive about 70/75 on it.. |

Yesterday I was at a stop sign, a cop right behind me; and someone blew right past the stop sign and cops ignored it. This was on Amherst & Tonawanda.

Pretty much, but when a lawyer won't flat out deny it, it points to something being accurate (IMO). If there was no story at all, I imagine a lawyer would flat out state how his client has not been involved in anything. |
