I cant see Kreider being willing to sign now for anything less than $5M.. if you are him and beleive you have the ability to score 80 points a season - $5M is underpayment. best gamble is on yourself. thats why i doubt he would sign now. Im sure the rangers have attempted to negotiate an extension.

I think if he continues to play with Step and Miller he will have a breakout year, him and Miller seemed to really click in the playoffs with both crashing the net with speed.

Good blog Jan, I see you're writing your blogs from most important to the team to least important.

1) There is no question that Kreider needs to up his game if he wants the kind of money he will demand. His inability to play better defense, 4 on 4 and the power kill hurt us more than help us. Hoping he is working his butt off this off season to fix that.

2) No do not trade Rick Nash unless your going to get a younger player like JVR. Trading for a 35 year old Marleau is a very bad idea!

3) No the Rangers at this time do not have enough to win the Stanley Cup unless Hayes doesn't wind up with the 2nd year itch although since it is a contract year this could help him have a strong season along with Miller and Fast. Losing Hagelin hurt and we will have to wait and see how Etem pans out.

4) The biggest issue I see is finding a way to keep Yandle. This man is a rock star and the Rangers MUST find away to keep him. Yandle did wonders for AZ and his play got better as he started to fit into his new system and teammates. I think this is more important the Kreider.

I disagree with 3) I do think Rangers have enough to begin a dynasty, just as the Blackhawks, Kings, Devils, Wings, Oilers, Islanders had...

Some one needs to make a Patrick Kane rape blog already. I want to know if i should still worry about the blackhawks this year or not.

That report doesn't use the phrase "sexual assault" though. It just says incident involving a woman. While that doesn't rule out sexual assault, it also doesn't imply it.
