You can have Rundblad back. No need for a trade, take him as a gift |

Are you serious? He's played really well for the Hawks. Like, look it up, pretty much superior to Seabrook across the board. Maybe getting easier zone starts, and not saying this means he's better than Seabrook or anything, just that the Coyotes gave away an extremely useful player. |

You seem to be a fan of singing the Coyotes signing Franson because of his strong underlying numbers.
Yet, you laud the new leafs management group for being progressive in their use of analytics etc. etc.
You ever consider why leafs haven’t signed Franson? Maybe their internal analytics group has been gathering better data and they have more useful metrics for measuring player performance than what is available publicly.
Maybe they realize he’s not as good as the publicly available numbers say.

The Leafs are said to actually have a take it or leave it offer into Franson.

Yep. Grossman handles the puck like a grenade...when he can get to it. Very effective at pinning players...when he can get to them. Yes he blocks shots. But he is a dying breed. I'm happy to be rid of him. The old guard loves him. Solid shot blocking clease clearing defensive dman blah blah blahs |

I bet you he averages no less than 19 minutes a game playing for Tippet. |

If he played so well why was he getting scratched for a 500 year old guy who could barely play? Or a rookie coming off a serious injury? Or when he was playing why was he playing 5 minutes a game? |

Tanner, your Rundbland argument is actually just an argument against advanced stats. |

Completely serious. The kid has no compete to his game. I do not care what his stats may say but he gets knocked off the puck way to easy and will not even take part in a board battle and his passes out of his own end are hand grenades. This is why even with a depleted D the hawks still only played him 5-7 minutes a game. |

Yandle is not missed because his pinching created too many breakaways that lost games. Happy to see he has dropped that habit on the Rangers (would have been benched anywhere else)
Rundblad showed his skills during the finals. Do you recall they essentially skated two lines D game after game? If that isn't proof of useless to task, I don't know what is.
Getting rid of Murphy for Gormley -- now, who is being an idiot who doesn't have a clue (in pretty much your own words). |

Rundbland is brutal. Like a pooptier version of Gardiner. |

A crappier version of gardiner would still be damn good. |

Yandle won't be quite as impressive in his new slot. I expect solid play, an occasional flash and low goal/assists withou top pp billing. You expect something else Tanner?
Stone pairs well with OEL and has that rocket shot. I expect his pp numbers to leap, and he will be the almost second coming on this blog.
Dahlbeck and Murphy get better and Murphy comes off his slump. They haven't played together but will mesh.
Gormley and Michalek will start off until he gets sent down. Others come up like P Samuellson and michalek/grossman work with the new guys to cover their backs/show the ropes.
You also have to figure they will be hurt blocking shots etc since they are old school defence unlike a certain ex Yote I've bashed. Smith, knowing he's got some guys in front of him that will do what it takes to protect and puts up good numbers. The wins come through gritty play. QED |

It seemed like a lot of the times Yandle had the puck on his stick, the other players on the ice weren't ready for his pass. His offensive instincts are pretty sublime, and he's a lot better defensively than he's given credit for, though can still be a trainwreck on some shifts. Just sucks that he's a pass-first guy like everyone else on our PP. |
