Maybe putting Seto with a number one Center like Bozie will help him get back to SJS type production?

Pronman doesn't have a good track record. He massively over rates Euros. Hence his high ranking of leafs prospects.

Who says it's a crappy draft year?
- ClarksonDavid

It's a good year in the top few. Not as deep as this past year though.

Apparently more size in this draft.

He used to work at Hockey Prospectus and he definitely favors certain types of players. Which is fine, but I don't think taking one person's opinion is a good way to do rankings. Usually there are a variety of inputs to get more accurate rankings. Massive changes in rankings from one year to the next is also not encouraging for credibility of these rankings.

This is somewhat subjective, especially in a situation where a (potentially) strong draft year (with high pick) is combined with acquiring some prospect depth (Liepsic, Harrington, Kapanen etc.).... combine this with some prospects "graduating" in other team's systems and this ranking is more subject to rapid change than other metrics.

To put it into quick perspective, since the last ranking we have added Liepsic, Harrington, Kapanen, Marner, Dermott, Bracco and Timashov as players who are considered to be solid NHL prospects. In addition, good years from Brown and Johnsson in the pro leagues have raised their stock, and there's a couple of recently selected dark horses in Lindgren, Dzierkals and Korostelev keeping things interested. In addition to that, the only potential grads from the system are Stuart Percy and (maybe) Josh Leivo...

Sure, but it goes both ways with that. Anytime rankings have such a high degree of variance in a short time frame, it is going to call into question the accuracy. I don't think TOR's ranking is really what most people have an issue with. EDM's ranking is pretty bold IMO as it is based strictly on MacDavid, Nurse, and Draisaitl and MacDavid is going to be for sure "graduating" in literally 2 months. Personally I think he places too much priority over quality instead of quantity.

I guess nucks fans wont be able to say they have a better prospect pool than us now...
actually they probably still will haha

I like the setoguchi move. guy has scored at a .27gpg/.26apg clip (22/21 full season pace)

If he can even get back to his wild numbers and post something like 15/15/30 in 55 games or so, we can flip him for a 2nd/3rd and 4th

pretty sure most will peg the leafs top 10, if not top 5.
no other team has added as many quality prospects since the last draft.
Obviously Edmonton got Mcdavid, but marner, leipisic, bracco, kapanen, dermott, harrington with no prospects graduating is pretty big.

No, we actually want them to lose to be better in the long run!

No more quick fixes and finishing 9-12 in the conference. That ship has sailed and most fans can suck it up now and wait it out

Edit: I should clarify when I say most fans, I mean fans with a higher IQ of 0.

- bryant

agreed. I can take another losing season if it means a contender a few years down the road and not just an in/out team fighting to get in.

I can see why fans of other teams would want the leafs to finish 9th or 10th though...

Joe Thornton could make Colton Orr a 30 goal man...........well that's probably a stretch but you get what I'm saying.

Setoguchi having substance abuse problems makes sense of why such a talented guy with the size and speed to be an elite player never could take it to the next level. That includes the 30 goal year, I remember a Sharks writer basically went back and Jumbo had the primary assist on 28 of his goals.

And we got him for a song ( )

He's gonna regain his form and we'll trade him at the deadline for a ransom.

When Bigcock gets all these guys who have something to prove actually prove somethinhg the Leafs will get the last playoff spot..

No pressure/expectation to win is a wonderful thing..

is it that surprising iggy doesnt agree with something that put the leafs in a favorable light?

Marner,Nylander,Brown,Kapanen,Gauthier,Leipisic, Dermott,Bracco, Harrington, Hyman....we are this high because our euros are overrated!
