Seems like someone just wants to spice up some boring Yotes games
He's partly right -- in order to be a top pick you have to usually possess unreal skill and mental fortitude, and many times we like to ignore the 18-19 year olds who have great success in the NHL. But the NHL is a grueling, merciless slog; it's a tough place for a kid to work on building strength and refining skills at a juncture where doing so is the difference between flaming out and having a long productive career. Tanner apparently also wants Strome slotted in as 1C....which is way too much, way too soon for a talented kid with a lot to work on. And he makes it seem as if Arizona/Las Vegas/Mogadishu's plan is to overripen him with 2 years in juniors and then half a decade in the AHL, when in reality it's probably just another season in Erie. There's a touch of the histrionics in his piece.

Clarke, Lindros, Giroux and Snider and Howe are a toss up.
Three generational centers who have kept this franchise alive but the tough choice is between the creator or a game changing defenseman.
Giroux was drafted with the Flyers, developed with the Phantoms, a Captain, saw a Stanely Cup Final and is within the top of the league in points every season. When all is said and done, he'll be viewed as important as a Clarke or Lindros for the Flyers.

He did, and yes in some cases, a kid can handle going right from the junior or NCAA ranks and have success in the NHL. More often than not, they can not. Look at guys like Dainius Zubrus or Luca Sbisa. They came in, were not ready, got bounced around and developed bad habits and struggled to reach their full potential-even though Zubrus had a solid NHL career.
