Only wish the best to Danny Briere in his retirement. He was a key signing to re-ignite the Flyers after the '06-07 disaster.
Those were also the early days here at HB and through all of the knock-down-drag-out discussions about Jim Vandermeer, Randy Jones, merits of a R Hand dmen, inter alia...it's been real

Briere was awesome. Was so happy the Flyers landed him in free agency that summer. Out of the big 3 available FA forwards that year he turned out to have the hands down best ROI. 1st player to score 30 points in the playoffs since Lemieux I believe.

I think both Crosby and Malkin did it in 08/09. But yeah, he was unreal that year.

loved danny as a flyer. he played a huge role and scored some huge goals, especially in the playoffs. congrats on a great career, especially for a smaller player. it's so unfortunate 2010 ended as it did, and he retires without a cup. 30 pts in 23 games...jeez, what a monster. let's not forget he also scored the firs goal in the SO against the rags in game 82 to put them in the playoffs.
best of luck to danny in the future. i hope he finds a role within the organization if he wants one.
File under creating your own luck. One of my favorite Briere moments. Nice to be on the winning side of a Stickle moment...to start the comeback which ultimately ended in a Philly win, if I remember correctly. Suck it Pens.
