Just to clairify if anyone starts reading this without having read the earlier posts, Carol is not going anywhere. Unless she wants to leave, she is staying put.

Couldn't feel sorry for Lu. Getting paid to play a sport? Can't be that bad. Spouse doesn't like the city, you are only around half the time anyway with the travel. They can live wherever they want. First world problems.

She does a fantastic job. Absolutely killing it. Very consistent and fair. Doesn't bore us with over the top stat charts. Top Blogger on HB. That said... We need assets. If Benning has a deal in the works that makes this team better... Then so be it.

i think most people, even nucks fans here agree horvat is a 2nd liner at best. almost zero chance he becomes a 1st line C. i don't even think i've seen a nuck homer saying horvat is going to turn into a #1C lol

virtanen i can understand the disagreement, he does have 1st line "upside" but i dont see it happening. if he can crack 50 points in 3 years that would exceed my expectations.

- sensnucksnocups

Do you know that you just directly contradicted your previous statement here don't you?

I think most Nuck fans hope Horvat turns into a 1st line center of the same ilk as Bergeron with a floor of a kesler-light.

This individual has a deep hatred for the canucks and their fans, not sure what his exalted team has achieved to give him this sense of entitlement, (maybe because they won the cup when there was only 5 other teams in competition).

But he is noticeably still being derogatory against the team, but is disguising his posts so he doesn't receive another ban.

Now i could be wrong in my assessment, but I'm betting I'm not.

He's a very affable guy. Remember this is what I had heard early on. Perhaps he grew to love it and then things worked out like they did. In any case when your wife is not happy it makes life difficult and stressful. It's very hard to take a girl from Florida and try to be happy in Van. Two very different cities, climate, cultures etc.

I live in California, but miss home very much. I don't do well in heat. I imagine the inverse is the same for people from warmer climates.

As for why not test free agency-- Gullzy nailed it. Front loaded contract. Pretty hard to say no to that kind of money. You take it and run. At the end of the day it all worked out for him didn't it? Let's not go feeling sorry for the guy.

CS absolutely should have been showcased and shipped. One day Canucks fans will learn that it's better to sell high than sell low. One day. I can only hope.

- rugdnit

I actually thought that's what there were doing. I was hoping they were going to send him to TB for Hedman after his first season when he was struggling a little bit, Hedman, that is. I wonder what kind of team we'd be right now if that had gone down.

3rd liner at best? You base this on what exactly? You post no rational reason for this. Must be on negative biased view?

Remember JV only slipped in the draft standing because of his surgery, otherwise he was around top 6 in the draft.

btw you do realize that Van won the presidents cup twice right? They were amongst the 1st cup winners in history. so like most everything you post here even your screen name isnt based on any fact what so ever. Maybe you should change that tendency.

I think Virtanen can be a consistent 25-30 goal guy with 150+ hits and 100+ pims. He has the physical tools to be a first line winger, he just needs to develop his game a bit. Playing with vets like the Sedins will set him up for a great career by hopefully bestowing him with the right mindset and work ethic.

As good as Boeser is, he is nowhere near Virtanen in certain facets of the game. Virtanen is a better skater, has more of a physical edge, is stronger, and arguably has the better in stride shot. In fact, I can't think of a single area of the game that Boeser is better than Virtanen in.

It'll all come down to development. If Vancouver can develop Virtanen properly, he'll warrant his pick.

Passing probably.

We only bring it up when sensnucks hits the troll.
I think any cup from the three round era should have an * beside it exception being the canadians because "24 stanley cups".

I have no doubt sensnucks is waiting for his moment to return to his trolling ways but he is not incorrect that Horvat projects to a 2C and Virtanen a 2nd/3rd line tweener. Jake might end up riding shotgun on a top line if he is surrounded by elite talent but he won't be controlling the play, its just not his game.

Any one thinking this team will be a contender on the backs of
Horvat, Shinkaruk, Virtanen, McCan, Boeser and Baertschi are out to lunch.

Good complentary pieces likley but not nearly enough talent to become elite players.
Enjoy the last years of the Sedins while we can because it unlikely IMO that we see any players with that talent for some time.

i tend to agree with this one ....but I still say (frank) the Habs ...I'm more impressed with the Hawks winning 3 in 6 with 30 teams and a salary cap then 24 with 6 teams for most of them and a much less fair system of bringing in young players

Without a doubt. What I don't get is that I heard very early on from a couple friends in the loop that Lou and his wife hated it in VAN. I mean H A T E D it there. You would think that mgt would be more in tune with everything and recognize that tying a guy down to a big contract who in his heart doesn't want to be there... Is a mistake.
- rugdnit

I dont think LOU hated it in VAN but he did make sure he didn't buy property here in case he had to make the getaway. Buying a Condo and having your wife visit a few times a month isn't 'settling' the family here like many players have done. I always thought Lou sent the wrong message that way giving the appearance that he always didn't like it in Van.

His wife however did NOT like it in Van at all that is pretty common knowledge. And that obviously drained on Lou's realtionship with the fans here and being in Van in general. Yoko Ono syndrome affects many players. Not much we can do about that.

I really dont think his comments have been that bad lately. Posting them under a different username and no one would notice the difference between him and a regular poster that isnt satisfied with the team. I have no issue with him hanging around

That's the way people in toronto operate. i've met enough toronto team fans in the GTA to understand their deep seated insecurity and self-loathing. they absolutely resent anyone not suffering the same misery as them in being fans of the toronto team. This troll is no different. he wishes to elevate his own self-worth by trying to bring us down...
