Couldn't agree more, he's paid to be a role scoring winger, NOT someone to generate offense by himself. He was a few points behind ennis on a team that didn't score. - yen6d1
That's why you don't give 5 year deals past the age of 30 to guys who can't generate on their own.
Didn't Moulson have 1 goal over the first 20 games or so? I want that no where near my team when they are contending |

It's safe to presume that he would score more with better talent around him, like, when we are contending. |

Regarding last season, I think the players were instructed to NOT score. in a round about not obvious way. |

It's also safe to presume that he won't because he'll be about 34 when we're a contending team |

I'm starting to think you'd like to marry me, because my wife is the only person other than you who believes I am never right. |

It just as likely means you told me you were pregnant while I was trying to figure out how to get you to move out of my house. |

Moulson gets a lot of poop around here and I'm not really sure why. He was arguably our best offensive forward, outscoring Ennis at 5v5 with 1.6 P/60 while Enzo had 1.4 P/60.
Note: in case you're wondering Ennis made up for that point differential on the pp - MattFreaknEllis
i am not saying moulson is bad by any means.. i just think that if we want to be a top tier team that position is going to need an upgrade |

My guess would be they hope that one of the young guys who hasn't made the jump yet fills in there instead. Not sure who plays what without looking, but I would say one of Bailey/Baptiste/Fasching off the top of my head. |

Since we are on the topic of Burrito Bay... Anyone recommend any other taco place in WNY? I love Burrito bay but i wanna try something new.
As for the price at Burrito Bay, Its way to much. I did the Gluten challenge two years back and it was cool and all but it cost me a lot lol |

He has some sort of NTC/NMC, so it wouldn't be an easy task. Especially since he's still under contract for 3 more years after this one. |

In response to everyone talking about Matt Moulson:
Yes, he is a player that is over 30 and like all players above 30 he is on the decline. On the power play I don't see him as a Vanek like player who will pot tons of rebound goals if we have the guys to put pucks on the goal. Another thing, Moulson was simply our best possession player last year. He was tied with Gionta in CF%, yet played with the worst possession line mates on the team.
I have seen posters on here nominate Moulson as the whipping boy for the upcoming season when he is certainly not at the heart of our problems(the exact opposite in fact). So, yes he is getting old, but why try and get rid of one of the few true top 6 players we have while he is still productive? |

Well said. I think Moulson and Gionta still offer a ton of value to the team in the form of veteran leadership.

It's funny because the real issue that most people have with him isn't any of the above things you've argued against. It's because of the $$ and duration of his contract.
I don't think it ends up an issue regardless, but some people are worried what it means to our cap when we get into the years where we start really competing and the young guys are due for raises. |

Agreed. I think they're the exact kind of guys we need teaching the new generation of players that we have what it means to be a professional NHLer. |
