Well, just put the mother in-law into the car as Mrs. Marwood takes her home and I'm, now going to smoke an ungodly amount of hash. |

That tends to happen when you have tree stanleys cups in your hears.
I was in the building a few times in SJ last year... I don't think it's the same as it was. - rugdnit
They've won and stayed good. We lost and crumbled. We're in the same league as them, but only technically. |

I'm not sure SJ is a club we should be comparing ourselves to. The team just feels apathetic and the fans see and feel that too. I think they are all waiting for MGT to be flushed.
LA and Anaheim sure. Golden standard is Chicago as we all know. |

I meant Chicago specifically. LA's up there too, a peg or two down and maybe dropping fast, and while Anahiem is damn good, so were the Sharks 5 years ago and they never even came all that close to getting it done. As for the Sharks of today, I think that the Canucks will finish above them. All they are missing is a surprise Torts hiring. |

Yup.
I almost feel bad for Deboer in SJ. It will be interesting to see if they rally around him despite Wilson. He's walking into a bad situation. |

I think coaching was and is the least of their problems. We've been there. We also fired a good coach because our GM wasn't able to do his job. |

Well Canuck fans might be focused on it; however, my point is that I don't think those teams have given the Canucks much thought in the last few years.
Hell... The Canucks are not even the same team. How many returning players?
You gotta' admit to a certain degree... The finger incident with Joe was funny. Disrespectful? Sure. Harmless? Absolutely. Players do far worse. His locker room quote when he stuck up for Hertl was priceless. - rugdnit
Maybe it is more animosity towards certain players. Still a lot of guys don't like Burrows.
That finger incident was strange/funny. Henrik is so patient.
Rivalry or not, LA and SJ can't be too happy finishing behind the Canucks and out of the playoffs. These divisional games can get heated if they are close or play a couple close together against the same opponent.
Hockey is always better when you can see there is an edge to a game. |

If I was a fan of any other team the finger incident would have been hilarious. But I'm not, so I hated it. It represented everything wrong with this team. So Henrik isn't the type of guy to respond, ok, fair enough, but no one has his back? I agree with Vantel on one thing, this team has no push back and so they get pushed around.

That is a challenge with the Sedins as leaders. They are turn the other cheek sort of players, and just play through a lot of the cheap stuff. Seldom react or push back except by scoring.
That finger incident was weird, as it was also in front of the refs who just ignored it.
I was wondering how much of that crazy stuff happened in the good old days, the days when not every game was broadcast and everyone was under a microscope.
Maybe nothing had to be done that moment, but at least take a number and look for an opportunity later. |

Exactly. It's not like something has to happen instantly. Hockey players aren't like goldfish, they can remember beyond four seconds. But when absolutely nothing ever happens, they remember that too. |

Would like to know what actually went down with the Bieksa to San Jose trade, he was probably trying to pull one over on JB for the 2nd rounder in 2016. One would think they had to be clear on that if he was there house shopping. |

Definitely the most realistic line-up, but, come one, use a little imagination. We're here to fantasize about the great year the Canucks are about to have. Lord knows we won't be able to do it once the season starts. - Gullzy
lol...no doubt. Imagination?
Sedin Sedin Burrows
Vrbata Sutter Baertchi
Virtanen Horvat Hansen
Prust Cassels Dorsett
*Vey *Higgins
Edler Franson
Hamhuis Tanev
Sbisa Corrado
*Bartkowski *Weber

You know you have a good team when Shea Weber is on the bench. |

I can accept that the Sedins don't play that type of game, but I can't accept that you allow that to happen to your damn captain. That poop won't fly once we have Lucic and Virtanen on the team.
BTW, If any of you guys want the new puck and skate jersey when they drop in 2016, let me know. I get 20% off merch with my membership card. I'm grabbing a Horvat. |

Canucks aren't going to be push overs anymore. Benning is building a different type of team thats for sure. Camp will be interesting. See who makes it and who doesn't. One thing is for sure, 1 or 2 more vets will likely be moved this year. A gradual turnover seems the right way to go.
Everyone and their dogs are predicting the canucks to suck. Just because of what other teams have done. This is still a good team. Would love to see them prove them wrong. (Or be one of the top 3 lottery picks) Can't wait for things to get going.
If anyone wants Seahawk merchandise let me know
Would love to have Canucks season tix, but my work hours don't mix. |

Have you ever stood next to Joe in shoes? Let alone skates???
I agree it's everything that's wrong with the Canucks. Guys like Prust won't stand for it. Guarantee you that.
I don't get how guys complain that there's no push back, but then they $itch about bringing Prust when we have Dorsett. Absolute Facepalm. We need these guys to protect the younger players coming in and bring the pushback. Dorsetts hands must have been like a bag of smashed potato chips by the end of the season. |

I bet the Sedins start dropping elbows like Cena once they have some bruisers around them.
If you read that article that was posted on Nucks Misconduct yesterday, you'll notice that people are choosing one or two moves to judge this regime on. They've made so many moves now that the majority of the team is new players! Bloggers have to write about something so I guess latching on to a narrative for an entire summer is just business as usual.
I agree with you inasmuch that I also don't think the Canucks will suck. Although I do think that making the playoffs will be a season-long challenge. There is so much parity now that it is impossible to predict what will happen. For all we know, the reemergence of the Kings, and solid play from the Sharks, Calgary, and Vancouver pushes a team like Anaheim out of contention. The same thing can happen to any number of teams in the western conference, including the Canucks. I think that drama just makes for better hockey on the ice and more intriguing stories off the ice. It should be an exciting season.
