The Green Party is a pipedream that'll never fly IMO, it consists of one elected person and a handful of localized supporters. It's not much different than the Bloc in Quebec, nationally, it's a wasted vote....just my opinion.

The NDP however, could reap the benefits of people being tired of Harper and not being fully onboard with a youngish Justin Trudeau...I guess we'll see.

It's only a wasted vote if you vote to win. I don't think they would ever form a government, or be capable of running one if they did, but I do think that it's important to have their voice heard in the house or legislature.

I think a wasted vote is one where you vote for the lesser of two evils.
- rugdnit

I think most people vote for the party that best serves their own person interests or agenda's.

Yup - good, bad or indifferent....get out there and let your voice be heard thru our democratic system. If you don't vote, don't complain.

Lesser of all the evils...still a better option than the NDP, Liberals or the god-awful Green Party.
- LordHumungous

Why is the Green Party God awful? do you even know their platform?

I am not going to tell anyone how to vote, but your comment made me think of this quote, "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
- hillbillydeluxe

Agree doing the same thing over and over again can provide detrimental results kinds like our aging core...

But voting change in just for the sake of change sometimes don't work out either. There was a reason why Obama had the lowest approval rating at times in the history of the US presidency...lower than Bush which many thought wasn't humanly possible.

It's a good thing you keep a closed mind. Are you Kraptaan's brother?

lol...no. But I don't really think it's a question of having a closed mind here. Outside of maybe a few environmental issues that the Green Party has taken stances on I don't really think it takes a genius to realize that they have no structure or platform whatsoever for running a gov't right now. Doesn't really take a narrow or closed mind to see that. We are going to see similar paths of governing in Alberta here where the NDP was voted in for the sake of 'change'...and they will most likely run this Province into the ground in 18 months or less. Just like they have with every other Province they have been associated with.

Absolutely.

The problem I find is that many are very self centered and have a very narrow view of the world.

Government by the standard of " Looks Good From My House... Good Enough for ME "

It's only touchy when people lose their $hyte.

I'd like to think we can have heated conversations and still be respectful.

Passion at the very least shows you care.
