I know he was targeting NHL ready players but it'd be hard to choose between Theodore and McCann right now?? And I really like McCann as a player!!! - LeftCoaster
After they said they wouldnt do their first pick I was hoping for Theodore and the McCann pick. Not sure the Ducks would have moved Theodore at all though. Theodore probably would have made the team last year too cant be any worse than Sbisa lol |

Give Sbisa a chance. He's physical and skates well. We need more of that. Kesler was a cancer and addition by subtraction. It was an excellent deal. Especially now that Bonino got flipped for Sutter. |

I will agree to disagree, but regardless I think he will need to perform better than last year to be considered good value. - belcherbd
I didn't want him signed. wanted a vet backup for Lack.
Anyway, was never a Miller fan, but he has a good resume with his Vezina and Olympic appearances. Just too bad he played on a sh!tty Sabre team for a few seasons before being moved.
29-16 wasn't a bad record for an injury shortened season. I want him to stay healthy and win more games. Might be too much to ask.
Maybe I sound a bit like a Miller apologist and JB too. Damn dog days of summer. |

Hmm, that sounds more like a pipe dream to me. I think they just got lucky. It seems impossible to have good cap management, asset management and drafting/developing. - Nucker101
No I'm pretty sure it can be done....not sure what team I can use as an example but I'm sure someone's done it before?
Since the Jets move back to Winnipeg they've had five drafts, I don't think they've picked any super-stars but I love Chevy's patience with the draft and develop mode. Canuck fans wouldn't be able to handle the way he does business though, they have ZERO patience and they'd have been calling for his head four years ago.
Looks good now after five years of drafting though!
2011 - Scheifele 7th overall - good solid pick (Canucks 29th overall & Cup final)
2012 - Trouba 9th overall - good solid pick (Canucks 26th overall & Pres Cup)
2013 - Morrissey 13th overall - awesome pick (Canucks Horvat & Shinkaruk)
2014 - Ehlers 9th overall - lots of talent (Canucks Virtanen & McCann) all great prospects!
2015 - Connor 17th overall - Canucks Boeser (who knows??) |

I know I will get grilled for this but as many of you know I have never been a Sedin fan.
They are fantastic people great regular season players and fantastic team mates. Who wouldn't want that?
Me .
I have never been a fan of the two man cycle game where everything is built around 2 players only. They come as a package deal and have never been separated more than a couple of periods. I like a little more grit from my leaders also more emotion.
Not every fan has to like every player. I always wished Canucks were more of a meat and potatos type team instead of a finesse team. I am not a fan of Edler also .

Jets sucked and piled on draft picks, but they didn't have to worry about losing ticket sales during that time either. The fans support was just so immense that they could do whatever they liked, and still make money.
I don't think that's possible here in Vancouver. |

To the guys who remember watching the Canucks before the WCE, what was the team's style and reputation? I'm asking in regards to the good times, cause I know we had periods of extreme suckage sprinkled in there too. |

It took him four years to do an actual player for player transaction don't think that'd fly on the left coast. |

It's gonna take a couple more years until the Canucks have younger players that can actually play in the NHL...I'm looking forward to those days!! |

Everything changed when Quinn came in. He drafted Linden and Bure, made that trade with St Louis and filled in the rest with solid acquisitions. Big, fast, tough team...my favorite time as a fan because they played a solid North/South game and had a player that would bring you outta your seat.
1990 to 1995 that is... |

It was wide open play culminating in the surprise '94 cup run and then extreme suckage. If you don't remember those times you have had a very easy Canucks existence |

I was 5, living in an East Indian household, so there's no chance I saw the run live. I do watch highlights in YouTube though. You could tell that generally the team had each other's back. |
