He stays a Chicago Blackhawk. The "Spin Doctors" are already working on the public perception sensors. He will be at camp. - Cup-Bearer

So what are your dream line-ups for 3 on 3? Ek had a post that got me thinking.

I don't think that would be enough to re-sign Seabs...either more money per over the 5 year term, or a longer term...but I do think that's in the ball park.
And there's no way for the Hawks to make this deal with Seabrook and still maintain the core the way that it is...add to that in 2 years TT, Dano and Panarin are all FAs and the Hawks have NO CHOICE but to start taking steps to give themselves some Cap space.
But I am one that does NOT see this as a "bad thing" at all. Bowman and his "all star" supporting staff know what they are doing (as evidenced in the hurried deal with Saad), change is a natural and healthy thing that could see the Hawks GET BETTER and not begin a descent back towards mediocrity. This is a very special group here, good enough to keep winning without Patrick Kane if it comes to that. - MexicoHawk
Seabrook isn't the bank breaker becasue he already is a $5.8 mill cap hit...So he gets a bump of about $1 mill or so and they hook him up for 7 years.
Right now Seabrook is a sure difference maker but Dano and Panarin aren't yet... ....

My guess is toronto if Kane goes - ikeane
Not a hope in hell.
Unless he is 100% exonerated, which rarely happens, Kane will always be associated with this (whether that is fair or not, it is the reality) and the Toronto media would explode if the Leafs ever traded for him.
MLSEL isn't stupid - no wait, they are pretty stupid.
But they aren't stupid enough to trade for Kane. It would be hell from the moment they announced the trade.
Plus, the Leafs' long-term rebuilding plan doesn't really fit well with trading for Kane.
Now if you want to trade Toews... |
|

Based on what I've heard, I would rough guess Seabrook comes in at 5 years, $6 million per - John Jaeckel
That would be the third best contract ever right behind Keith and Hammer at absurd deals. |

For John Tavares ..... DONE! - paulr
Multi-player deal:
Kane: 10,500,000
Anisimov: 3,283,000 (goes to 4,550,000 following year)
Total 13,783,000 this season, 15,050,000 next season
Tavares: 5,500,000
Leddy: 5,500,000
Total 11,000,000 this season, 11,000,000 next season
Savings this year: 2,783,000 (can get Kruger signed, you have a young cost-controlled D until 2022)
Savings following year: 4,050,000
Pretty sure that trade would put you in contention for a CUP this year, solves the C problem, there's your 1a and 1b for sure, gets Kruger back into the fold. Also solves your D problem, Rundblad won't ever see NHL ice.
Big issue is Tavares is only cost controlled through 2018. But I'd take a CUP for the next 2 years and worry about losing him later.
This post should bring out the pitchforks in a big way.

Are you going to make a joke about Kane following Tim Horton's example of driving back to Buffalo, or am I? |

Leo Komarov has a DUI conviction and a $52K fine to pay. The idiots in the Toronto media would normally be off their chairs with indignation about that but they have forgotten that because they are all too busy kissing the rear end of Alex Anthopoulous. |

I think that is an open question at this point. Especially in light of what's going on in Western NY.

You'd better have a coaching change in there because nothing Leddy did in NY would lead me to think Q would want him back in Chicago.

And money.
Don't forget about the extra revenues. Rogers has to be happy about that.
