I bet he went up to them and said how about passing it to me too
- VANTEL

They started out strong together, but their production started to drop as the season went on. The problem with Vrbata is that he would shoot as soon as he got the puck from them. Not that that's a bad thing, but it does become predictable. Personally I preferred them on different lines, at least Vrbata provided 1/3 of a legitimate 2nd line. And unlike Kassian, Vrbata was able to be productive while playing away from the Sedins.

Something was going on there last year between Vrbata and the twins.

It also seemed strange the way JB described the type of player he sees with the twins, the description couldn't have been further from Vrbata. I thought it was talked about on twitter there was some drama between the players.

That being said, I thought Vrbata put up the numbers and was professional. He comes across as very sincere and serious.

This is the thing, why must there be drama, and then repeated as gospel because we saw it on twitter or HB

The other side of the coin on that is , so few passes come your way that you need to shoot as often as you can to get your best numbers

Agreed, he gave the team a better chance of having a second line and seemed to accept that role. Higgins, Bonino and Burrows didn't produce, Vrbata helped immensely. And he still played the PP with the Sedins

With a cap hit of 5 million, he's expendable.

True, unless you're playing with the Sedins, in which case passes come at you like machine gun bullets. It's not that I'm complaining about Vrbata's shoot first mentality, God knows the Canucks need it, but you do need to switch things up a bit. Vrbata at the left face off dot became pretty easy to read.

Funny how no one talks about the defense, which still is a mess. The focus have been on additional scoring, which I get....however

- VanHockeyGuy

I just watched the Canucks 30in30 and I think they questioned the void Bieksa was leaving behind him. I think we saw the team play well enough without him.

Can they repeat that play again without him?

We are just treading water when it comes to our defence. Waiting for a trade or draft pick or something to come along.

I don't really care about his cap hit, but he is one of our few tradeable assets that is easy to move and has decent value.

Again East coast journalism. The media in the West have a much better read on this club. The Eastern media are either two sheets to the wind or asleep by the time Canucks hit the ice for the second period

Like Vantel suggested, hope he puts up lots of points just for that reason.

I think it is an attractive cap hit for a 30 goal scorer.

Along with the GM's, is why we can't get fair value per JB.

Most of the eastern media need to be beaten with baseball bats around the head.

I am sure the GM's watch a bit of hockey highlights on the tube , how could they avoid it? Kind of like what was mentioned with Edler, guy plays a lot, he is going to have more mistakes with more ice time. We are often too critical, or the media out here over reacts and pushes a goalie controversy story, and you ignore the record and run with the story. Sedins have to be too old to be top50 players. They aren't flashy enough, so they can't really be good

Daniel 76 PTs
Henrik 73 PTs

Total 149

Crosby 84
Malkin 70

Total 154

I guess 5 points in the new difference between over the hill and elite.

Pitts 98 PTs 15 th overall Canucks 101 PTs 8 th overall , yet eastern media thinks that there is no comparison between the teams or players

There are other intangibles involved in comparing those particular players, but the point you're making is quite valid.

I'd love to see the differences if the Sedins played in the east and Crosby and Malkin in the west.

you heard it here first folks

sedins = crosby + malkin

Only an idiot like you would think I said they are equal. I said you and your BS media can think that 4 players with similar numbers classify two as elite and 2 as has beens.

Go back to your hole slime ball.
