Yeah, as much as Hextall wants to lose Vinny, I don't think he wants a guy with multiple concussions, a longer deal and a cap hit of nearly 6 million coming back. - BiggE
Could be wrong thought his cap hit was 4.35 million.
That being said he calls it a move to get us out of cap "jail" while upgrading our skill. Schenn 3.5 million is all we'd be losing. Skinner for Vinny would be a wash. Schenn on his own can garner a 2nd rounder. Second skinner by no means appears to be a hasktol guy. He likes to only play offense and doesn't like dirty areas.
Finally cousins a first and third rounder should be enough to get a very very solid player. But I don't see hextall with where this team is trading his first round for just about anything..one player won't make us contenders and hextall has by all appearances struck gold in all his first round picks.
Everyone is enamored with finding g and Jake a top talent left wing.. can't we just let raffl play.
Que raffl as top line winger debate.. ready go |

Raffl is fine with Giroux and Voracek.
Trading your first when you are a bubble team at best, and the lottery is now for the first 3 picks, not just 1st overall, would be extremely foolish and risky. Unless you are getting a young, true impact player in the deal, you hold on to that pick.
No worries though, I don't think Hextall has any intention of moving any 1st or even 2nd rounders any time soon. |

Would you like it more if it was a conditional first? Condition is if Flyers are a lottery team, it's a 2nd? |

Still don't like it. I have no interest in moving any high picks (firsts or seconds) or good prospects, and adding a guy with multiple concussions and a cap hit of nearly 6 million running through 2019.
Now if the deal was Vinny and L Schenn and just a 3rd straight up for Skinner, I'd do the deal.

It's his cap hit that kills it for me. If it was in the low 4's then I'd be interested. And as you said multiple concussions is a concern.

Not taking a risk on Skinner, even if it does mean dumping Vinny. Can do a lot more with the other assets involved, including the cap space. - Baxter27
There are very few deals I can think of where the Flyers dump Vinny and yet I still hate the deal. This is one of those deals. Terrible. |

If he gets hurt, you can always utilize LTIR, but I'm not comfortable giving up quality assets for a guy like that. It's a shame, before the concussions, he really looked like he had potential to be an impact player.

The Flyers would gain about 2.3M of cap space in the deal. In my view, I'd put Skinner on the 2nd line if the deal was made. The deal doesn't make sense in a lot of ways. I'd rather see what Gagner can do. |

I'd prefer to do something like Vinny and LSchenn to Carolina for a 4th. I'd even retain 50% of Schenn's contract. |

Skinner could make the team that takes a chance on him look very smart. That being said, the Flyers are not in a position to be that team. They need to stay on the conservative path they're on. |

vinny will be gone soon enough. no reason to ship those assets to expedite the process. i still think he can be a somewhat useful player here this season. |
