Ya I like Metchosin just the way it is. We'd like to find a place out there if we could and build our dream acreage. But for now I'll stick it out in View Royal, our taxes are really low compared to other muni's and we've got 1/3 of an acre old lot. I don't know how people can live in those tiny little lots with the next house six feet away???

Or you can get out of the Metchosin wind, and move to the best part of the South Island - Mill Bay/Cobble Hill. You can get a new home on more than 1/3 acre and pay far less with far better quality of life.

I never did like Langford/Colwood. Now I find it to be a total disaster - place is a total zoo. I laughed the other day when I saw a new house listed: 2000 sq ft house on a 1600 sq ft lot.

I was under the impression that the whole Kraft Hockeyville was about supporting grassroots hockey in small communities, and that North Saanich won, receiving a size able funding grant for arena improvements and an NHL pre season game. I get that the "Q" are a holds more people, but that defeats the purpose of holding the community contest. I haven't read anywhere that there was a change, but if that's true this would go down as a disappointing bait and switch (to continue that conversation).
