The only thing that is more entertaining are Amac jokes followed by the usual suspects posting laugh and thumbs up emoticons. That definitely adds to the quality of the forum.

Word up.
Actually though, Ken Daneyko does just seem like a good dude. He was tough, but he wasn't sneaky tough and looking to injure guys like Stevens and he wasn't as Claude Lemieux as Claude Lemieux is. Had he been a Flyer, he'd be beloved by this city. |

Claude Lemieux would not, Dave Brown would have run him out of town in about 4 seconds.
With Stevens, it depends. Had he been here pre-92/93, he would have been. After his wars began with Lindros, he wouldn't have been. The hate just ran too deep.
Kinda like when the Flyers got Ulfie. Never liked him one bit even though people said he was the "One of those guys you hate to play against, but love on your team." Same for Barnaby, Kasparitis, and Avery...and, for BiggE, Sandstrom.
Edit: Petit, too. Never really liked him.
Edit: Domi, Ulanov, and Odelein fit this as well. |

Agree. But man that list/reminiscing had me throwing up in my mouth a little. |

Oops. Late to the party, here goes: I can't believe Calgary overpaid Giordano at 6.75 mil for 6 years! Don't they know the going rate is 6 years 5 mil for top d man?
Now back to Gauge Theory and Quantum Electrodynamics (or really just Netflix. You be the judge) |

Now if the Flyers had drafted Stevens in 82 instead of Ron Sutter, he'd be beloved |

Chris Pronger probably played a role in that. Not that Betts/Lappy weren't great that season, but having Pronger out there makes everyone's job easier. - jmatchett383
I would still put Betts ahead of Giroux and Lappy in terms of killing penalties. Betts was dangerous shorthanded too. |

Same here. Giroux is good, but Betts and Lappy were premier PKers for their short time here. |

Definitely Giroux. Giroux is a decent PKer, mostly because of his faceoff ability. |

Lappy spent alot of time hurt, which saw Betts playing with Powe. |

When Kasparaitis corrected the spelling on the sign at the Flyers game when he was a Pen, he kind of won me over. |

So, former Devil Ken Danekyo is the guest of honor at the JCC Sports night tonight. Should I:
A. greet him warmly and make polite conversation
B. just mumble "hi" and walk on
or
C. Yank his sportsjacket over his head while throwing punches and shouting "(frank) you and (frank) your mickey mouse team!" - BiggE
You'll be too stunned to say anything when you notice Danekyo's hands are the size of baby elephants |
