I hope something can get worked out and we get a mod.

An easy solution to a lot of this would be if HB could ban posters or limit their ability to post in certain threads. Like having limited access to the site. Guy would be free to post in Leaf threads, but not able to post on Canuck threads.

Vantel received his ban for some harsh posts, but in his defense, he was responding to a guy who just comes here to insult and troll. These trolls don't come here to have a conversation, no real exchange of information or meaningful discussion. The guy got banned for sh!tting in a Canuck thread, comes back and posts that he is out of jail on parole and sticks out his tongue, wanting a reaction. Some reacted. Guy runs to a mod and out come the bans. Sounds like someone is holding his hand while he sh!ts in the playground.

I hope we get a mod, but I will feel sorry for the mod because there is a fine line on what does and doesn't get banned around here. And you will be put in some awkward situations. - poking is okay, over reacting will get the ban. and it will often be the usual suspects doing the poking.

Ive often thought the same thing....only allow their forum. Although I also think any hate posted by them in that forum should be deleted and result in them being further banned.

I have no pity for our guys who troll other threads and get banned. Not that I care about it. It is quite fun to read sometimes. I do have a problem with double standards though. Our guys should not be getting banned for telling off trolls who are here to bait.

if anyone deserves a ban its 'steaming'... and maybe 'marwood' as far as I'm concerned. no issues with the other guys in this forum...

I should be allowed to go to a Leafs thread and say Phaneuf sucks and not get banned. If I did it all day every day, then yes I should be banned from entering a Leafs thread for a year.

From CaptEO, what they are looking for in a Mod:

The challenge is finding a Mod who is not provincial...IOW someone who just isn't there to "keep others out" but to be sure that all posts meet the code of conduct so that differing opinions can exist w/o being dragged down into name calling, and threats.

The Mod would have to work closely with me and the other Mods and Admins and would be accountable for their techniques and methods to keep the boards clean.

Who among those you have mentioned may fit that bill?

It is ridiculous.

Right now the GF and I are finalizing divorces so we can get hitched in Oct. Our lawyer is her best friends hubby. We are meeting to get our final papers but I asked him today , if I can go after this guy legally for harassment.

He said it might be hard to prove but if I start a legal complaint the site might be forced to give up his personal info. That is all I really want to peruse.

My son had some run ins with a teacher at his school, next thing we hear, he was pulled in to the principal's office to talk to an rcmp constable. It turned out there is a site called ratemyteacher.com (or similar) and this teacher had some terrible and threatening reviews and I guess she complained to the police. The cop was trying to get my son to admit to posting bad reviews, saying our ip was used, or at least insinuating this. Nothing came of this. We found out the police had nothing and the site wouldn't provide any personal info and didn't feel obliged to do so because it was an American site not answerable to Canadian authorities.

Likely not worth your time, just disappointing that it is the same posters trolling and ruining the site. strange that behaviour is tolerated.

Jeremy Blain was the guy who was signed by the Chicago Wolves. Was a 4th round pick of EDM in 2010, was never signed. He was a good ECHL player but never found any type of success in AHL/Utica.

We signed Adam Cracknell to a 2 way 1 year contract worth 550k roughly. Hes a bottom 6 depth player who is some what physical and has decent numbers as an AHL'er and some NHL experience. A depth move I imagine with the departure of O'Reilly.
