Tbh, most of the American broadcasts are weak. Very bland commentary and heavy homerism

I actually find that some of the "non-traditional" markets (Nashville, Tampa Bay) are actually pretty good.

it was a mistake to swap Therien and Coatsey. As a side show, Coatsey was tolerable. As a full time mic guy, he's painful.

Agreed. Still think the Canadian markets are much better though

Would you rather have Gudas or Raffl?

Therien really hasn't offered much. Maybe he'll be more comfortable this year. He always seemed so uneasy last year.

Not sure I'd compare Simmonds, Couturier, Voracek, Raffl, and Giroux to Gionta, Cammaleri, and Desharnais. - jmatchett383
I didn't.

Well those were the 3 forwards that drove the Canadiens attack a few years back. They only forward they had with size that was a threat was Max Pac.
We're not exactly running a team of Danny Briere's out on our top-6.

Flyers still hold his rights (and will indefinitely as long as there is no NHL-KHL transfer agreement). But he is progressing rather slowly in the KHL. - bmeltzer

I was speaking generally about the forward group of prospects. I agree about the Hawks. I'm not going to go google the stats, I'm sure someone will but I'd say they have a large group of average size guys not smallish or undersized. I think size can be overrated for sure, but I just feel like the prospect pool is undersized.
Fair point though.

Completely agree. Sucks for radio listeners like me, plus therien and jones are a similar dynamic. I never minded coatsey on the bench he's a clown guy
