I agree, any of the games where you guess and makes the contestant look dumb are my favorites. Reminds me of one of my all time favorite scenes in a movie. In UHF when they do the Wheel of Fish.
- hubie

I still quote wheel of fish....."you so stupid! Why you so stupid?"
Also: congrats. Not around these parts as much in the summer, so im missing stuff.

I would have been at the Union Rd one then. I think.

Although we may have crossed paths for you upper classman years. I think I switched to Sheridan around 93. Definitely by 94.

Is the Sheridan one still there? I was back home about 10 days ago and didn't drive that stretch at all. Definitely spent plenty of time there as well....late 80's.

usually the starter plays game 3

if it is really open competition, I would expect EJ in the first half, Cassel in the second half

right now, I think he has not decided yet

- homiedclown

Nah - no way that the probable season starter doesn't play (TT). The starters will play well into the 3rd quarter (which isn't abnormal for preseason game #3) with all three playing 2-3 drives each. TT will be named the starter if he has even a good game.

Still there but called Adventure Landing now. The old owners sold it to a corporation in the late 90's and made a killing.

Then bought it back a few years later at a fraction of the price after the corporation screwed things up and lost lots of money.

definitely. no need to. I'm sure they want to cut in on others business. But i would have to imagine they were doing just fine with subs and deep fryer stuff.

I would guess so. I worked there for a few years and we were always pretty busy. Not that I knew profits or anything like that, but know they did good business.

Theoretical question. My window just opened to buy a mini-pack and I purchased four games. I am thinking of doing a little prospecting by buying a bunch of other tickets and selling them on stubhub. As luck would have it I received a bonus today and I have a gift card burning a hole in my pocket.

Do you think it would be worthwhile to do some prospecting? I would think that the opener will be a hot ticket and that I could make 20% off my tix. I doubt that Leafs games would pull what they would in previous years (not that I want to fill the stands up with Leafs fans). Thoughts?

Tough call. You really have to bank on Toronto games and the opener. We are not going to be very good so people will want to go but won't spend over face except those games more than likely.

I don't know if you can bank on Leafs games anymore. I'm on the fence... I have 8 tix to the opener sitting in my cart and I am waiting to pull the trigger.

Yeah, I got two there as well. If it weren't so far away I would have bought extras for that game.

Yup. That will be a good one to have. Other than that and the home opener, can't guarantee that any other games will garner a lot of interest.

You could buy some for later in the season and hope that they end up better than people expect, but that could also backfire and they end up god awful again and you can't even give them away.

It's a risk that I personally wouldn't take.

Remember Ernie, the piano player from CATCHER IN THE RYE? He was a terrific piano player, but the problem was he KNEW he was terrific, and instead of just playing the piano the way he was supposed to, nice and simple, he had to louse it all up every once in a while by showing off just to let you know how good he was?

Well, I feel exactly the same way about CHICHKEN SALAD.

I've never been one to throw in all that crazy stuff, grapes, walnuts, curry, cranberries, all that other claptrap. Just some nice chicken (I like to grill dark meat and cut it up); a bit of mayo, salt, pepper, and maybe a little celery.

Less is more

Eh, personally I'm in it for the long-haul. There's talk of one of our party (whose name it's all under) walking away and turning it over to me. Those seats... I'd never get seats like that in a million years.

where are your seats? I am too cheap to pay for anything outside of the 300's. Sit around 316 and have money left over for beer (I miss the old days of being able to sneak in a few cans).
