I too also had that last night, I was not a fan. It tasted different on every sip to me, some were good, other es not so much, weird aftertaste. - ImThatGuy

Mine was on draft and seemed consistent throughout. I liked it. Not too sweet, didn't notice much of an after taste at all. For me, the after taste is the biggest part of whether or not I like something. Probably why I don't care for IPAs at all. Way too strong of an after taste.
I also tried Troegs Hopback Amber (was pleasantly surprised) and Ballast Point Calm Before the Storm.
The Ballast Point may have been my favorite. Though the only full glass of anything I had was the Sponge Candy.
Also, I kind of hate that Sponge Candy stout, and for me, it exemplifies my general issue with resurgence. The quality is pretty low, and the inconsistency (which I've noticed from batch to batch) is an indicator. But mostly, it's just that Resurgence seems to prefer gimmicky flavors to actually well-crafted beer. Sponge candy, loganberry (though that's actually not terrible)... there's three good breweries - CBW, Flying Bison, Big Ditch and some great ones if you want to extend to S Tier. Resurgence doesn't get my beer money.
All that said, their Oktoberfest and Kolsch selections are actually quite good, and the space is great to visit as well.

Yesterday was my first experience with anything from Resurgence, so I didn't have anything to compare it to. We were at World of Beer that just opened at the Galleria Mall and it caught my eye. Don't know it's something I would get often, but it was a nice change of pace since Stouts aren't something I typically drink.
EDIT: You are also a lot more adventurous of a beer drinker than I am.
