Good blog Matt, he is definitely a player that the Oil need to have show some consistent success. Olivier Roy will retire in a couple of years, and I'm not sure if Bunz is still in the organization, but he isn't going to be a factor in the NHL.
The other factor is Laurikainen who had better numbers that Broissot in the WHL on a team that wasn't nearly as good as the Oil Kings. I haven't looked yet, but has the team confirmed he is coming back to NA after the Finnish league last season? It would be best with him starting and getting most reps in the ECHL next season, but having some hump like Nilsson taking games from Broissot in Bakersfield would be a shame. |

Laurikainen is better. - BINGO!
I'm also very interested in Laurikainen. Give it 1 year and he might take over. Want to see his North American Pro debut. I know he's played WHL before. I hope his Finnish numbers translate. |

If this means that Griffin Reinhart is in the Oilers' top-5 prospects then... that is not good.
On the other hand, if he doesn't crack their top-10 prospects, then that is most impressive. |

I can't really say since I haven't seen him play, but I have seen Broissot extensively. He has his moments for sure, just needs the consistency that has plagued Oil goaltending since Roloson dropped off after 2007. |

Top 4 have to be McDavid, Nurse, Draisaitl, and .... oh (frank) he's in the top 5. |

Watched him here in Swift Current for a few years. Kid is tremendously underrated. Posted good WHL numbers despite an unbelievably porous defense. |

or...the oilers are going to continue to suck until they get their own Lundqvist to play in net...because their defense is as bad as the Rangers b |

Griffin reinhart was gonna take Hall to get isles fans interested this time last year.
now that he's not nyi property he's poope. laughable.
haven't seen a pro ranking place Pulock ahead of Reinhart yet either which makes this newfound lady boner even funnier |

As a Rangers fan who hates the Islanders, you guys got fleeced in that deal. Reinhart has bust written all over him to be honest. If you take the time to read the Isles blog from different parts last season, you'd see their blogger, who regularly watches the Islanders' AHL affiliate live, consistently criticize Reinhart's ability to ever become an NHLer.
Defense is a tough position to gauge though so who knows? Maybe he finds his game? |

As someone who says you wouldn't trade Skjei for Hall in 5 years. Thanks. Grain of salt.
Only verbal I've read from professionals is that he was solid all around, but no one skill stood out. Lined up against top lines every night (unlike Jesus Pulock who managed 7 more points and no NHL recall). Hockeybuzz blogger sounds good. You take Henderson's blogs as gold standard I guess.
Reinhart's nothing special, but the odds are he's Braydon Coburn not Dylan McIlrath. |

I said I might not trade Skjei for Hall if Skjei hits his ceiling. And from all recent scouting reports, he very well may.
Should he hit his ceiling, he would be McDonagh 2.0 and I would not trade McDonagh for Hall straight up. |

Pulock had almost as many goals (17) as Reinhart had points (22) on Bridgeport last season.
Reinhart has looked terrible. Bad skater; doesn't use his size. Has no instincts/feel for the game (which is odd considering he comes from a pro hockey family); was never a big point producer on any level. I thought that long before the Isles dealt him. |

Really? Maybe we are both Homers, but no way I make that deal. |

I don't think anyone think he will be a point producer. I'm hoping he will be a solid top 4 stay at home guy, who can play with a offensive partner. |

Yea. I think defense wins championships and McDonagh is a top 10 defenseman in the league to me. There aren't many players I'd deal McDonagh for. |

Yes, but even NHL stay-at-home defensemen usually produce offense in CHL. I never liked that pick from day one (could've had Rielly or Dumba) but Garth got a mulligan on that one. Maybe Reinhart will develop in time but when last seen he didn't look anywhere close to being an NHL defenseman. |
