Per a recent report from TSN, sources claim police found “some pills in a single bottle” during a search, adding that “it was clearly intended for his personal use.”
There's more to this (obviously). - tangent_man
There HAS to be, otherwise the Kings are royally screwed.

So unless the Kings have an ace up their sleeve you've got to think their voiding is overturned. If that indeed happens, what kind of penalties are the Kings looking at here? |

Having to keep Mike Richards on their payroll/salary cap for the next 4-5 years.
Did I ever tell you about how Punch Imlach created the salary cap back in 1974 to keep the Japanese out? |

Nah, they can demote him to the AHL, just like they did last year. Then buy him out next Summer. More importantly, if he has an issue with pain killers, they need to follow the negotiated process in the CBA, and get him in the substance abuse program. |

I think the joke was that the arbitrator would require they play him as a penalty. Y'know, because he sucks now. |

Went back to Europe in the SHL/KHL and became a star. Just couldn't hack it in the NHL. - jmatchett383
Yea, but he was only a "star" for 4 years combined... since then he has bounced around the 2nd tier market. |

It depends more on where the player is at in his career than what he actually did wrong.. You wont see Pat Kane's contract being terminated |

That's because he hasn't yet been charged, which means that he's innocent. Can you think of one case in any time recently where it took more than a few weeks to charge someone for a crime? |

It all goes back to when Imlach was playing in the old Polynesian league for the Pearl Harbor Pineapples in '41. He never forgave the Japanese for ending his career that December. |

FINALLY! At least someone on here knows their salary cap history.
The Pineapples were poised to win the King Kamehameha Cup that year, ending their 35-year drought. |

No, but I really dont pay too much attention to time crimes and time frames. Richards was once one of my favorite players and I live in the city where Kane is from/is facing charges in. With the way Kane's been getting dropped by sponsers and events it starts to seem like he might not get away so easily.. Time will tell |

That was a joke. It took a few months for Richards to be officially charged, and that was with hard, physical evidence. |
