Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reports the Bills have decided Tyrod Taylor will be their starting quarterback.

ESPN's Adam Schefter hinted at this possibility earlier Monday. Taylor only attempted 35 regular season passes as Joe Flacco's backup in Baltimore for four seasons, but he offers the Bills a rushing dimension veteran Matt Cassel cannot match. That rushing ability should land Tyrod Taylor on the streaming radar as long as he holds the job. He has 108 yards and a touchdown on the ground this preseason.

The emotional reaction of some fans of the cutting of Fred Jackson reminds me of how I felt when the Sabres traded Gare and Schoenfeld to the Red Wings. Of course I was very young at the time and there was no Twitter or Fb at the time.

I liked Fred but didn't have the strong attachment that many feel. It was time to move on from a 34 year old often injured running back. Class act who was talented but who also played during a dark period of Bills history. I hope he does well on his next team but I don't feel the emotional loss.

So far Buffalo39 was right, now we'll wait to see if Cassel gets cut. I hope TT can finish the job in the Red Zone but I'm happy with the call.

I think Cassel will get cut. However, it will not be until after Thursday. They need quarterbacks to play the game since Taylor most likely won't.

Since the subject has come up I pose a question.

Is there a valid reason to not root for the hometown team? I will admit the Sabres are the only local team I root for. When it comes to baseball as long as it isn't the Red Sox I couldn't care less. Basketball... don't care, College football I root for Michigan (Grandfathers Alma Mater and we used to watch games all the time as a kid) NFL is Saints (and i was a fan long before the Drew Brees days. And NHL is Sabres.

And per @gunnarstaal cutting Cassel saves cap $$ while cutting EJ does not. After seeing how they could let Fred go I think cutting Cassel would be easy.

Sure, but I thought that you could keep as many players as you want and only the first 53 salaries count. Also, Ryan had said recently that it wouldn't be a surprise if they kept all three.

Sure, but there was so much discussion in the preseason and the last few days about all three being the QB. It's easy to say that now, rationaize that now that the decison was made.
