Pretty cheap deal. Pretty accurate for what he brings. - MNHawk
I don't think he will ever be more than a 4th liner, but I also think he knows how to play and can be a guy that is effective on the PK - plus he's a center who can play wing so there's some versatility. He's still relatively young in terms of games played in the NHL and the times he's had a chance have come sporadically so it's not hard to understand that he hasn't been able to get established playing 10 minutes a game once or twice every few weeks.
The fact he was the captain on the Icehogs says something too.
Plus he sang with Versteeg at the Parade celebration so full marks on gonads. |

Hey Savvy, hope your summer has gone well...
I'm a fan of Desi...and I'd like to see Baun get a shot over Nordy...though there was one point in the season last year where Nordstrom led the team in hits with having played only something like 8 games to that point... - DK002
Hey DK, back at ya! Summer, me thinks, has just begun in the last few weeks. Seems to be moving later into the year than ever, then of course, we can expect the cold blast soon. I know Nordstrom had those hit totals but really most of the time it seemed like they did nothing -- either ill-advised hits and/or just nothing behind them. Like everything else re hockey, hitting is as much an art as science (along with the want-to), got to drive into a player using the legs. Seemed to me his simply weren't effective.
Liked what I saw of Baun, if he has worked a bit on his skating (which wasn't Jimmy Hayes horrible at the time), I think he could be one of the "under-the-radar" additions that could make a nice difference. |

Desi was a very underrated addition imho. I was hoping he would slip into free agency and the Blues would get him to replace Goc. Instead we got Brodziak and the Hawks kept Desi. |

I thought Ogi only said he skates fast, something he did as a Blues prospect. Well he did in a straight line at least. |

Good for us, bad for you.
Desi -- another true team player, took less $$ to be part of this organ-i-zation.
Just like Kruger hanging on.
And even Oduya, bless his soul, hanging on til the very end. |

I would not place money on that.
In fact, I first heard the term "slam dunk" associated with this case about 2 weeks ago. Didn't give it much credence then, but now hearing that from a source this AM and the sports mockery thing (again, that taken with a grain of salt).
Regardless, trust me, there is significant financial interest on the part of the NHL and the Chicago Blackhawks to know as much as they can right now about the details of this case. I am certain they know some things. Maybe quite a bit. - John Jaeckel

Anyone else see Raanta's comments? Wasn't he in Rockford the last few months of the season? The comment on team morale must have been more about himself. |

If there is a new witness we may need to move that out a few years.
If Kane put himself into situations like this multiple times he deserves the heat. |

It's ok.
You just need a regular blogger, a new coach, a new captain...
Maybe then you can have your own rape allegation stained Stanley Cup summer.
