I've been on the Chicago forums since this all happened last month. Some there have speculated that Chicago has some way to kill that clause because of all of this. I can't see that happening though...
There are a few there also responding to this Boston rumor today: Marchand, Subban and '16 1st for Kane - stashu
If that's the rumor the Sabres can beat that |

I doubt that's an offer Chicago is taking seriously. |

Kane is a great player but IMO, it would be a huge contract to take on and may cause problems for us later on. I don't want to see him on the Leafs. - SABRES 89
I feel like any deal involving him would include the other team sending a decent amount salary the other way. Can't see too many teams eager to take on that deal with CDN dollar where it is.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, though to what extent would it take? With all the pissing and moaning already about the defense, sending off Ristolainen would be horrible, and obviously losing either of the last 2 #2 overall picks would not be something I'm interested in either. |

Which is why I will never buy a newspaper or subscribe to a newspaper's websites again. This shock journalism crap needs to stop. It falls in law what is wrong with this country. It's irresponsible reporting, it causes riots, is becoming race baiters, police hating, etc.
There comes a point where freedom of speech needs a governor or something and no I am not challenging the constitution but my god there needs to be smarter people that say "wait a minute maybe we shouldn't publish this, or say that on TV" - Stripes77
There are libel laws and there are supposed to be editors and ombudsmen who regulate it in a professional news setting. The problem with working in a professional news setting is we all like to get our content for free, which means that they rely on clicks, which means they'll do anything short of outright lying to get your eyeballs on the screen.
It's natural to want someone to blame, but really there's more than enough for everyone. |

Wouldn't shock me. in a way it reminds me of the Nash and iginla trades. With a full no trade/movement the team he's willing to go to is in a pretty good position to get that player at less than face value. |

I know it's a sensitive topic these days (thanks homie) but would moving reinhart for him be so bad? Still have Eichel, O'Reilly down the middle and gives you a lethal top six. |

If you don't want to move Reinhart (I really don't) I would be more inclined to send ROR and a 1st for Kane...
Think about it...Zadorov, Grigorenko, a 1st and 2nd for Kane and McGinn...
Not saying it would be what Buffalo wants to do buuuuut |

I'm with you, I know how it works, but come on someone needs to be the person that says that's the most irresponsible thing we could say for a freaking click of a computer mouse...
This isn't just about Tim Graham but he's the one driving the sports bus right now. But CNN, MSNBC, Fox News they all freaking do it. It pisses me off. |

It gives Chicago a very good player a cheaper cap hit and a first. Maybe they would want a prospect not named Eichel and Reinhart.
It's a legit option in my mind. Obviously I would like to keep ROR, Eichel and Reinhart. |

I mean from a PR standpoint. Doesn't do well for your team image if you give a a huge contract after making a big trade for him and then trade him 2 months later.
Besides Im pretty sure O'Reilly has the same full NTC so I can't see him being ok with that. |

Good old BBC.
Also, The Hockey News is a decent pub with a more or less neutral editorial slant, unless you happen to really like fighting in hockey. |

From a PR standpoint it would be he got in trouble right after signing a contract with us so we traded for a better player with legal troubles
But yes I really doubt ROR would be dealt |

Yeah, it would have to include him a first and a higher prospect like Bailey and even then it's not enough IMO. |
