Who did we pick with the selections Bob brought back?
- Giroux_Is_God

Stolarz and Leier. The other pick was traded to LA for Simon Gagne

Voracek has become such a killer from his point on the PP opposite Giroux, it must be so hard for other teams to gameplan around him and G. It used to be you just had to take away G's time and space. Lucky Streit, playing between the two of them on the PP!

His decision making with whether to shoot or pass has become very good, and he's very deceptive about when he's going to release his shot, especially with how he's able to do it while skating around shot blockers high into the zone. I always thought Timonen did a great job at waiting for the goalie to be screened and then just getting an accurate shot through, Jake has gotten quite good at it too.

If we can get more defensemen who can get the puck to Jake with speed coming out of our zone we can expect to see his points totals increase. Del Zotto and Medvedev, I'm looking at you guys!

While I disagree that Voracek will ever become the face of the franchise over Giroux, ever, I've only ever heard good things about him since coming to Philly. Taking time to autograph a jersey to anyone who asks. Always has a smile on his face. I can't even say these same things about Giroux. What can I say, Voracek is a pass first player.

I can't help but wonder what might have been on a line that consisted of Giroux, Voracek and JvR. I think JvR is better than what he's given credit for and would easily be a nice compliment to our two best players.

Question. Is Giroux hurt yet, leaving us to wonder if he'll be in the line up on opening day.

Last I heard he was drunk driving a golf cart trying to grab some buns. It's great practice for hand-eye coordination

Good for Jake to give some back.

The player, who signed a massive eight-year contract extension in late July and will make $4.25 million in 2015-16, said he has no qualms about the amount of money involved in funding the Jakub Voracek MS Foundation.

Why would he? At least Jake understands $60 to $100k is a minor ding to his income, something he likely won't even notice, even if the media doesn't.

In NHL news today, the Philadelphia Flyers have traded Vincent Lecavalier, Andrew MacDonald and R.J. Umberger to the Pittsburgh Penguins for Evgeni Malkin and the Penguins 1st round draft picks in 2016, 2017 and 2018. New Penguins owner, Jay Snider, says "this deal is one that we are very happy to make and I truly feel it will benefit both clubs." Flyers GM, Ron Hextall, had no comment, however distinct peals of raucous laughter were clearly heard by this reporter.
