That's just common sense. You can't make a case for a worse signing he's made. But there's some competition in Miller/Sutter - Nucker101
Sutters gunna be part of the core from now til passed sedins leave, he will score double then what dorsett does (basically double dorsetts salary) and most likely mentor kids comming in, I dont think theres much wrong with the Sutter signing. |

It's the Gulf island living
Like him or not he's gonna be here a while so I may as well try to balance Nuckers pessimism with a little optimism.
Sbisa could turn into the anti-tanner and be a positive player for us
Either way, go canucks, flamers suck!

Sbisa or Nucker? - A_SteamingLombardi
hey now Nucker is entitled to his(obviously wrong) opinion. Thought tbh he is right that we need to miss the playoffs for a little bit and get some talent you can't get w/o a top 3 pick. Problem us that ownership will not tolerate purposely losing, and fans will not tolerate a boring team trying to get a top 3 pick. So what do you do? get players who are more exciting, Hitting/fighting makes the games(even when losing) more exciting and although fans don't like the fact they just lost, they don't feel cheated. This is a hard thing to do though as these types of teams don't generally lose enough to be that bad. I just hope that we can trade some players for picks/assets, then use them to move up in the draft. |

Sbisa or Nucker? - A_SteamingLombardi
Both, I actually like the majority of nuckers posts, prior too the playoff loss last year when he went full torts.
Sbisa I feel has more upside then we give him credit for, he's big and mobile, sure he makes some boneheaded plays but he was paired with Beiksa last year which didn't do him any favours. When, due to injuries, Sbisa was forced into a top pairing role he didn't look that outa place.
I think we overpayed for year one of the new contract but hopefully by the end of it it'll seem like a steal. or maybe nucker is right and we are royaly F'ed.
I'm not gonna be a negative nancy about it and switch teams, I will hope for the best and cheer the piss out of my team, those bandwagoners who jump ship now that the nucks are no longer the class of the NHL can eat a D@#k. |

West Coast Express Night - December 2 vs. Buffalo - Were Naslund, Bertuzzi and Morrison the only line in Canucks history to get a proper name that stuck? The only other one I can think of was the Sedins' "Mattress Line."
I'm pretty sure The Brothers line nickname stuck, but Anson Carter didn't. |

Go on and tell us about how poor all of Chip Kelly's moves were. |

LOL I know you're trying to bait me into this but I'll bite anyway.
Like Benning he overpaid for guys, but at least unlike Sutter/Sbisa/Prust, Murray and Bradford are core players plus he's an excellent coach, that I'll never doubt. He also tries to gain a competitive edge looking at explosiveness ratings of players he drafts/signs. Not even close comparing him to "good old boy's club" Jim Benning. Benning doesn't seem like a forward thinker at all, Kelly definitely is. |

You missed the point.
You lambasted all of Kelly's moves calling them horrible. You seem to be backing away from it now that it appears that maybe there was more to his moves than YOU could see.
All I'm trying to say is why don't you let it play out a bit before being so pessimistic ? |

Nope.
I get what you're saying, but that's not true. I mostly hated the QB swap because i view both QB's as similar talents but one is injury prone and he gave up a higher pick. And I hated how much he spent at RB. The team he's assembled as a whole is still pretty talented though. |

Benning has no plan. He isn't a forward thinker. He is an absolute moron that operates with the "old boys club" mentality. Didn't you hear? |

I'm aware of that, and you probably see Foles with more upside. He spent so much at RB because he wants to pound it a bit more and 1 RB can't handle the touches. I do think Murray will get hurt, but so would have Shady. It's far easier to assemble talent quickly in FB than it is in hockey. Surely you know that. Also, he did inherit quite a bit of talent.
In your criticisms you always forget one thing.......what is the directive from ownership? I would be shocked if the directive wasn't to remain competitive while build for the future. Also, there is quite a bit of talent there to try to finish last as you would like. |

Tough fishing in Bamfield today, two days in a row I haven't won a dime in the derby
Canucks will be a tougher team to play against, thus more entertaining, at least in my eyes. I don't know if they'll make the playoffs, but they'll be knocking on the door. |

That would be similar to a couple of Canuck posters saying Sbisa is the worst signing Benning has made. - Makita
I'll go with weber.
He had a team worst +/- in playoffs (while having hamhuis most times)and no points dispute the bulk of pp time. Add to the fact he doesn't know he's allowed to hit. Even the Sbisa makes double he's still not as bad as weber |
