You will be fine without him but I don't think hes going to a write off as a player. Hes a quality prospect but what could the Sabres do, he didn't want to sign his ELC w/ them so might as well use him in a bigger trade. - DDM-Coga
It was the right move to send him off if he wasn't going to sign, do you see Grigs playing in your top 6 this season? |

Not sure, It really depends what happens with Rantanen if he makes the team, if Grigo wants to move to LW, and if they want to put Mitchell back to 4C. Could have a lineup like this
Grigo Duchene Iginla
Landeskog Soderberg MacKinnon
Tanguay Mitchell Comeau
But If Rant does make the team, I would rather see
Tanguay Duchene Iginla
Landeskog Soderberg MacKinnon
Comeau Grigorenko Rantanen |

Hes the ultimate X-Factor going into this season. Has the big body and skill set that Roy loves, but will he finally put it all together and live up to his potential.
I think Roy will get the most out of him but how much that is, I have no idea.
He could take that line up from a 2 solid scoring lines to 3 legit scoring lines. IF he does that, that team could be hard to shut down |

However, approximately two weeks ago, a rumour made the rounds that there were trade talks involving Stamkos before the draft. (His no-move clause kicked-in days later.) The best intel I could gather is that it didn’t get close. Some sources indicate teams called Yzerman to ask. Others say the Lightning wanted to check the market in case they eventually had to do something. A few suspected Buffalo, because Sabres GM Tim Murray is unafraid to take bold steps. (Via text, Murray declined to answer and another source claimed it never really went anywhere.) The info is out there, but it’s very hard to pin down.
That could've been fun |

The cost to get him would be unheard of - SABRES 89
and he is one of the few that would be worth decimating the farm system and roster for. |

Maybe the Leafs are dumb enough but the Sabres aren't, you can't pay him 11 mill a year and expect to keep your team and farm team in place. Sabres have a better chance with P Kane then with Stamkos. |

I'm fired up to see oReilly in the Sabre jersey.
I'm optimistic that he'll be everything Murray hopes he'll be Ennis vouching for him means a lot in my book. - Der Kaiser

Maybe. If they could get him as a Ufa it might be worth it. We are going to be in the same spot in a few years. |

I thought that as well but thus has gone on waaaaay too long. I am now starting to think he gets moved, especially given the rumors that they talked trades with other teams. Something isn't right.

little late to the game here.....holiday weekend. Despite some peoples problems with GMTM, I like what he's building. Really digging the fact that ROR is a cornerstone.
I feel like we have a good balance of new kids that want to be great with veterans. Sabres Vets are 24-30 year olds that can hold down the fort and make sure the kids dont get too high or too low. Really looking forward to watching actual hockey this season rather than root for the tank! |

I have always said that his true value on the team is not his offensive stat line. He may never be a consistent 60 point producer but he brings more than just that.
Its just dealing with the other team trolls who will see 7.5m and 50pts that you will have to constantly deal with bc they don't see what ROR does on the ice on a consistent basis. - DDM-Coga
We're already getting plenty of practice with this. It started with Kane/Myers, picked up steam with the draft lottery loss, more fuel was thrown on the fire when we were Babcocked, and after the ROR donut run we were ambushed by trolls from all 29. At this point I think it's safe to say not unlike the Buffalo snowstorms this past winter we can handle anything. Bring it on fellas!! Haha |

I think our D takes a step backward and there is a big hole for back up goalie
I love what he did up front |

I think the Blueline will be better this year than last if only because bylsma's systems start at the back (and, well, bylsma's HAS a system, which in and of itself is a step up from Teddy).
I'm not sweating backup goalie. We need one, but it won't change the season outcome unless Lehner dirties his pants. |

I still don't know about that. If he does end up in TO then that would tell everyone that his intention was to go to Toronto all along. |
