@TSNBobMcKenzie: UFA D Cody Franson is currently in BUF and expected to finalize on Thursday a two-year contract. AAV is expected to be around $3.3M. - gibby111
I like the signing! Haven't been on here in a while but I've been busy and was sick with mono for a month...
I would have preferred a LHD But if nothing else we have another vet big Defenceman who is very good at the point on the power play. Something we haven't had here in a while. Curious to see who goes over to the left now.

If Lehner can perform decently, you guys have a serious serious shot at a playoff spot. Franson is such an underrated signing. This is big for you guys

Gormley for a waiver wire player? im confused lol - yen6d1
Elliott is, he has played over 60 NHL games, Gormley has only 30 under his belt, so he is safe from waiver claims if he doesn't make the team out of camp.
Edit - apparently gormley has to pass through waivers too. Waiver rules are the hardest thing to figure out in the NHL

That would be great but I am not placing expectations very high. Can't be let down if you don't expect much. Lol

I posted a few weeks ago that the Sabres were talking a 3 yr deal for less money for Franson but I guess he took the 2 yr deal, figured he take the 3yr deal. Not a bad deal, good player.

My how his stock has fallen.
He's waiver eligible based on his age since signing his pro deal.
He signed his pro deal at age 18 thus he has 5 waiver free years or 160 games played.
He had 2 EL slide years and 3 NHL/AHL years. His current contract is technically(from a contract stand point) his 6th season.
