He signed his pro deal at age 18 thus he has 5 waiver free years or 160 games played.

He had 2 EL slide years and 3 NHL/AHL years. His current contract is technically(from a contract stand point) his 6th season.

Weber gets more penalties by a mile(stupid ones at that), is a minus player, is horrible in his own end, and is oft injured (never played more than 68 gp) .

Franson is weak in his own end, pretty good on the pp (40% of his points have come from the pp), just as physical, doesn't take many penalties (does take the occasional stupid one), is a plus player, and has less injury issues (78, 79, and 80 gp in his 6 seasons)
