Well 365 it looks TM is gonna sign that bum Franson after all. I don't like 2 years but I can certainly live with the 3.3 AAV. Looks like McCabe starts the year in Rochester.
Risto/Bogo
Gorges/Franson
Carlo/Pysyk
Weber - mhp
can you put gorges and franson in the same pairing? and will gorges even start the season |

Personally, I'd put Pysyk with Franson. Pysyk's skating should offset how bad Franson's can be. - HonkFortheGoose
i was thinking the same thing.. |

It takes minutes away from weber, i like that part. 2 years at that cap hit works for me too. He'll probably play more minutes than he should this year but could come in handy next year when the D is better and he'll see less "tough minutes". - Sabresfan-365
He is what he is.
A guy that can play 20-22 mins a game, give you 200 hits, 110 blks, and 40 pts(16 or so on the pp).
That IMO is a solid(not great) 3/4 guy. |

Plus, Pysyk is perfectly content to let his D partner carry the puck into the offensive zone. He complements any more offensively gifted D partner very well.
As long as Pysyk's mystery ailment from last year never pops up again, I wouldn't be surprised to see him playing 23+ minutes a night a few years down the road. Love the way he plays and his skating ability is going to allow him to eat those big minutes. |

I think it's been said that they pretty much are sick of it, but if Kane doesn't want to go anywhere, they can't really do much about it. He has a full NMC. He has to approve any trade. That right there is going to limit them quite a bit. Or at least I think it does.
I just hope for Kane's sake that this is the final kick in the ass he needs to grow up. - HonkFortheGoose
For he and his families sake I hope so.

This is why I don't love or hate the signing. I like that it's only for 2 years and the money is good. |

Maybe they should have done a better job in raising him. From what I've heard, his entire family has always had an entitled attitude that they can do what they want. I could be wrong, but supposedly his Dad seems to think everything should be handed to him just because. And this was all going on before Kane was an NHL superstar. Can't imagine having his son be as successful as he is has helped that any either. |

top 4 D are all right handed. Something about that I don't like. - mhp
Oh i absolutely hate it but what's the alternative? I just don't think Gorges or Weber are capable of handling top 4 minutes. |

I heard that as well. I think he was on Hockey Hotline not too long ago and said he feels great. Guess we'll have to wait and see. He may be fine now, but is the knee going to hold up through the rigors of an 82 game NHL season. |

I know his dad used to make him tape over all the companies names on his equipment growing up. (aka as he wasn't getting paid to advertise) |

IMO they are carrying 23 guys for the duration this season (8 defensemen, 13 forwards and 2 goalies). |

Well, Gorges and Colaiacovo both could end up on the injured list, since it seems to be the norm for them. |

I guess that's the reason why Murray signed Carlo and Donovan, wasn't sure if Gorges would be 100% or could go the whole season. |

Agreed.
I don't see how Kane plays another game in a Hawks sweater. Stan and ownership has to be sick of his crap. - mhp

It'll be interesting who gets paired with who at camp. I have a feeling Bylsma will go with the vets in the top 4. |

You're going to see a lot of different groupings for probably at least the 1st quarter of the season I bet. On both offense and defense. It'll take time for everyone to figure out who has the best chemistry with who and so on... |

They try to slip one of Rudy, Donovan, Colaiacovo thru waivers, or try to trade Weber/Gorges IMO. |

Another rumor guy, the business is about winning and having one of the best play makers in the world is what gets you there. JJ is not in the office with Stan and Co. |
