LOL. I have one.. my wife has one as well. . Neither of us look at it as saving the world.. pure greed reason.. more MPG..less $$$ I'm spending in gas. I have a 50 minute drive to work every day. Between my Prius and my Ninja I get 44 mpg.. - burner087
I also have a 50 minute drive as i live in Cobleskill but work in Albany. I get about 30 MPG in my Malibu. Which isn't terrible.
I'm willing to accept that there are exceptions to every "rule" which is what i will toss you and your wife under. Because every near collision or cutoff I've received from a Prius is driven by some smug little hippie woodstock goer or a tenured professor who think their pooh doesn't reek....
Question? Any damage on either of your owned prius? |

I still open doors for women/ladies. Even open the door for my girl on the truck and help her in. - cabin
I hold doors open for any and all within a 3-5 pace distance... only women have yelled at me for doing so. |

I hate that situation where you're like 12 paces in front of a kid, or woman or old person.
Your instincts tell you hold the door, but you're standing there like a dope for 15 or 20 seconds, and they look at you like you're being condescending, not polite (or observing etiquette).
The world can be difficult.

That picture does strike some resemblance to the persons who yelled at me
And I admit i make special cases for older folk, Im willing to look like a complete d'oh for a few minutes because they are most thankful for it.
Everyone else 5 paces or enjoy the door |

Here's where that's trouble though - they're six paces away. "Hey Jackhole, what are you in a rush, you can't hold the door for me and instead let it close right in my face?"
So you wait a little bit, and then you have to wait for seven paces, then eight, now 9. Acch. Nichte gedacht. |

I'd rather get 30 mpg and have my car have get up and go then 53 mpg and feel like I could get out and walk faster. |

Test drive one before you make that statement. Seriously, I don't find a problem with it, and I owned a Grand Prix before. In fact, it's much better in the snow than my Grand Prix. The traction control in my GP made it difficult to get unstuck in the winter. This car is just so much better, as little as it is.

I just traded in my Corolla for a RAV4. I drive way too far to get to work everyday in the snow. Decided it was time to get something with AWD. I'm currently averaging 26 mpg in it. I'll take the 6ish mpg drop for the AWD any day. |

They have great torque at a stop because nothing beats electrics off a stop line... hence why they are great around town that i will not knock. but once that prius is doing above 35 and it requires use of its what 1.8 or 2.0 naturally aspirated fart motor i couldn't handle it.. 90% of my commute is thru-way where i need to do 80 drop down to 60 cause some jackwagon in a prius thinks they are entitled to the far left lane and then be doing 80 again |

I live in the City of Buffalo, where they don't plow very good or very often, and as bad as last winter was, I did not get stuck once.

I still get compliments on it. I don't care much for the big one, just the small one.
