Come on... McDavid is the real deal, but he isn't a god. Mcdavid is truly in a league of his own, but hitting is a part of the game. These kids are fast and if McDavid was un-hit/catchable then you might as well start the parade, which it already seems like you have started.... - Codes1087
I agree....I've been an Oilers fan for too long, I'm expecting to be dissapointed, even with my very low expectations. It's not unreasonable for, say, Hall and McDavid both limited to around 50 games due to injury, for Sekeras to be no more impactful than Jeff Petry, no progression in either Schultz or Yaks games ( or both), Nurse and LD not ready for prime time, Eberle to get Snake bit and for Talbot to really miss New York. If all that happens, we'll be talking Mathews , not meaningful hockey, come March. |

You're right though...Andrew Cassels only has 1 'L'. |

Yeah that was amazing how he held him to only 7 points in 5 games. |

He was still over a P/G through that series so if that's what you call "shutting down" then sure. |

And Appleby was the best player on the other team all series. Not sure why Cassels is getting the glory for his goalie making miracle saves on a nightly basis. |

I don't know. This is my first time seeing it gone as well. I didn't even know what was in it, so I assume someone looked at it and found something they didn't like and got it removed. |

Yeah, watching him in the last game was amazing. Buddy is 6'5 but he was making acrobatic stops look easy the whole night. |

Good players get hit, and while I think McDavid is the next big thing, he isn't invincible and you're going to have meat head kids trying to make a name for themselves and be looked at and they are going to go after big name kids. This isn't the first prospect tournament. Horvat got smoked last year by and EDM prospect and was out a while. Either way, no team should be planning any parades yet. |

Cassels only was one part of limiting McDavids impact in that series and he gets way to much of the credit for that. At the same time though while playing a lot head to head, Cassels actually outscored him during that series which is what makes it impressive IMO.

Horvat is made of peanut brittle tho, so it's a bit different, but I agree with your point. |

He played him well, but yeah he didn't shut him out. Their goalie was lights out. If he has a big game tonight, people will say big deal it was against rookies. If he doesn't, people will be all over him. |
