Best case scenario.

I think it would have been best for his career to come to us while we had a deep team and he could have learned the nhl in sheltered minutes.
In Edmonton he was declared the man before he proved anything and I think it screwed his development.

But hey, a guy can dream right. ... Sbisa will be a solid nhl defenceman.

Coming to edmonton did screw him up, but the guy has all the tools to be a great point producer dmen, just dont think he has the tool box.

He also is going to have to learn how to take a hit while going for the puck, his so use to having small guys hit him, he has a poor stance, I mean Jake weighs 15 pounds less then him, an is shorter an he got him a few times. Feet in back out. lol

like "got him" how?

Virtanen was looking to play physical and nurse is a defenceman. theyre prone to taking hits as they are often forced to gather the puck down low while a forechecker is pursuing.

I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary

🚫warning troll post🚫
Oilers getting it taken to them physically, yup nothing to see here folks.

Actually nurse is gonna be a beautiful player for you guys, he actually stands up for his team. And he took the hit to make the play and didn't shy away like some future Norris trophy winners that the oil employ.
Nothing to see hear folks, move along.
Now if they trade R............

Have you ever heard a single Oulers fan say that about Schultz? Most these guys want him gone. Me? I think he has a bit more to give but he'll never be more than a 4th or 5th d man w/ PP time.

Some people thought Franson would be an upgrade on Schultz, I think the difference is marginal at best.

Schultz could be a 40-50 point guy on this team if he starts giving a poop.

As for Franson I'd prefer him because he doesn't get pushed around and has a decent shot. He seems like a better fit, but I don't think the difference would be massive by any means.

Some beauty plays by that Christoffer kid, looks like a player. Laleggia stood out to me too, on the pp he can really move the puck and skates like a champ.

Laleggia is going to be an interesting one. I won't be shocked if he was rookie of the year in the AHL are on the all-rookie team.

The issue he's going to have is similar to Schultz in some ways. No physical guy that is smaller. Oddly enough they've had very similar paths to becoming a pro, with the exception to the extra year Joey has in College.

If he can learn to play without worrying about size he'll have a long career. Hopefully he'll get more AHL seasoning. I'm not opposed to giving him a shot this year if he does well in OKC, but it should be a small stint. We need to be able to get these guys properly trained and developed before waivers become an issue.
