Burrows was undrafted though, and Cooke was a ninth-rounder or something. They had limited ice time in the beginning, and limited reputations.
That being said, it's easy to see why JV is Benning's kind of player. Any question why JB chose him over Ehlers? - Carol Schram
He's also playing against kids his own age tonight. He might alter his game a little against men. |

No question Ehlers is the more skilled but Canucks were so desperate for grit. JB is addressing the toughness first because he still has the Sedins skill for 3 more years. He did address shooting with Boeser this year.
Skill and D are next on his list |

Virtanen has a great shot too. Benning is focusing on guys with "heavy" shots. |

Cassels and Virtanen are the only two forwards close to NHL ready the rest of the guys are , well uh well - VANTEL
judging by his last season and AHL stint, wouldn't call Virtanen ready just yet |

You would be wrong. He added a lot of energy until his injury. He only has to beat out Higgins and Kenins . That is not a big reach |

Virtanen looks great. made a huge impact in the first.
mean, quality skater, always looking to punish someone. all with some skill.
hes gonna be a quality nhl'er.
nice to see the oilers finally have someone in nurse who's not just a face puncher/cementhead who can answer a player like Virtanen
also......loving draisaitls game |

Oilers have a lot of upcoming talent. We are just starting to develop one player at a time. It is a slow process, but fun to watch.
I love Nurse. It is hard to not be jealous |

don't think it's this year, and he'll need a big year for it to be next year too
has a lot of raw talent but needs to put it together and work on that hockey IQ |

Outside of McDavid, obviously, Nurse is the Oilers prospect that I would most like to have. I'd probably take him over Hall and RNH. |

That should be the case, but I think our roster is pretty weak and I can see JV winning a spot. We will need to wait and see. |

Nurse is going to be a stud. I would put him behind Hall but I have him as number 3 |

yeah that top 3 of the oilers is pretty ridic.
and its a little tougher to stock multiple blue chippers when youre actually making the playoffs....
nurse is already one of my favourite oilers. probably will be at the top of my list in the very near future. hes just got all the tools. and mean.

He'll be in tough to make it this year, though his shlt disturber style isn't hurting his cause. After that, a lot depends on what kind of season the Canucks have. There aren't a ton of roster spots as things stand but after the TDL there could be a lot of them. |

his development into what we hope is possibly the most important in the entire organization. including mcdavid.
I think going forward, nurse, connor and hall are the 3 cornerstones of the organization.
love the nuge-but draisaitls size and different style of game than the other skilled kids might make nuge expendable long term.
assuming everything works out....... |

I see him just like Seth Jones. Your team will be exciting to watch in the next few years. Oiler fans should be very excited.
I seen your new arena last week. Coming along nicely |

We only have 22 signed , one spot left with 1.2 cap. Don't be surprised if you know who grabs that spot. |

In a vacuum I'd probably agree but as a Canucks fan I can't help but envy other teams young d prospects seeing as we have so few of them. |
