This team in the 2014/2015 season against the 2014/2015 western conference rosters... Yes 100 pts would be obtainable.
This team in 2015/2016 with the west conference's updated rosters... I personally do not think so. I see us in the 75-90 point range and drafting between 5-13 overall, which unfortunetely is a terrible scenario for our club. - Codes1087
Damn, okay, forget the season, I am looking forward to what JB will be doing at the draft. |

For the points you state above, i believe this team will reach 100 pts. and will finish 3rd in the div... - kaptaan
Very possible. I think with the Sedins producing and a healthy Miller we should break (or get close to) 96 pts. It will be interesting to see how the injury situation plays out as it is so crucial nowadays. The media has downplayed us big time and seem to think losing Bieksa is really going to hurt us. I know our D is suspect but really with Bieksa gone and Weber asserting on the PP we have actually gotten 'marginally' better on D. Corrado is a way better option than Bieksa and if Weber can somehow keep up what he was doing late last season we may have a little luck moving towards a playoff spot. But if we get hit with injuries like we did the last half of the season under he who will not be named (Tortzarella) it's gonna be a rough last half of the season hence the high pick which so many want. |

Who hired WD? He did an excellent job in the regular season. You seem to only think one side of everything. - boonerbuck
In all fairness, WD was rumored as an AV coaching replacement before JB was hired so I don't think it was all Benning's idea.
2012 Alain Vigneault 51-22-9 (111 points)
2013 John Tortorella 36-35-11 (83 points)
2014 Willie Desjardins 48-29-5 (101 points),
Very similar rosters over the three seasons outlined above. To give Benning all the credit for the miraculous turn-around is humorous at best.

I still feel that this team has a chance to over achieve again. So much of it depends on what happens in our division. Other teams injuries and problems.
I would not say the odds are as good as 50/50 though... and I don't feel that is a terrible scenario. 5 to 13 in the draft makes me a little giddy even...
If this team finished with anything over 94, Benning's claim doesnt look too ridiculous. Why would he set the bar low when he wants his team to set the bar high? He's just talking like any other coach does. |

I have been consistently saying it is too early to judge his success or failure.
I have also been critical and supportive of some of his moves, based upon how I feel they will turn out.
If you can't see the difference between those two statements, I don't think I can make it any clearer. - belcherbd
Looks like you are Booner's target for today. I see he's already posted his 'talking in circles' comment. The guy really needs new material. |

Love how you took the stance that people are giving him all the credit. People are not doing that... unlike you who is giving him no credit.

Hey guys,
The pundits are suggesting VAN has made some questionable moves.
The GM thinks all is according to plan.
It seems to repeat or exceed last seasons team performance may be challenging.
The GM thinks you will excel beyond that.
Do you guys think there is a chance you are in the 'top in the west' hunt or is it perhaps unrealistic at this stage? |

No chance at top of West but if everything goes to plan, they will tread water meaning 100 pts. Too many variables at this point and could potentially sink to a 85-90 pt season finishing 12th in the confer |

a prediction of 100 points for the Vancouver Canucks may actually qualify as the single most comical thing I've heard this entire offseason. and this coming from a fan that has endured the Voynov, Stoll and Richards fiasco in a single offseason. In truth, the Canucks will remain a very competitive team that will be challenging for the last playoff spot. Which is never a bad thing. But to suggest anything other than that is comedy gold. |

Why? What have the canucks lost in the offseason to guarantee worse than 101pts? |
