It was nice to see that during halftime, someone actually bothered to inform the Eagles that preseason was over and this game actually counts.
How can you come out utterly flat in the season opener? Pathetic. - BiggE
I'm still more pissed that my fantasy team lost. The Eagles shot themselves in the feet so often last night they ran out of toes, and still were right there at the end with a chance to win. They simply execute better and avoid the dumb penalties and they'll be OK.
(frank) the Minnesota Vikings, their coach and Teddy Bridgewater. All they had to do was hold Carlos Hyde under 21 points for me & he ran wild. It was like Madden. I hope they go 0-16, all get cut or fired and end up as trashmen |

Am I supposed to feel bad or sorry for Umberger?
The guy has been making excuses for 3 years and at the time of basically Hextall's only horrible move to date we traded a quality scoring forward and team leader for a guy who the entire league knew was going to be bought out and can no longer skate.
Does anyone really believe Umberger is going to magically get better this season?
Umberger if you don't want to be called trash, retire - CarusiCromwell
Seriously? He showed up game after game, after game, and tried to play. Where were the excuses? What he should be criticized for is not telling the team about the severity of his injury, and gotten it taken care of sooner. If anythng, he did the opposite of making excuses.
If he's healthy, were going to find out if he can skate or not. |

Yessir, though while healthy and hungry seem to be givens, 'productive' is something we have to hope for.

He showed up game after game and couldn't produce. I think that was a detriment to the team. It's great and all he tried to man up, but halfway through the season when you are laying on your back on the floor because you can't sleep, it's time to be honest with the training staff and get better and allow someone healthy play. |

Yeah I don't think it's fair to say,he's a useless player until we see him in full health thus season. At this point I don't really care about his point totals, as long as he can get healthy, and at least play good defense, we'll be getting SOMETHING out of that contract. Would be nice to see him put up 30 pts though

Man, Jerry Rice would have caught that. Calvin Johnson would have, as well.
Unlike Desean, they wouldn't have alligator-armed it, and aren't (weren't) terrified of going across the middle. - jmatchett383
And clueless friends of mine were whining that it was all the QB's fault for "throwing interceptions." SMH |

Nothing. But it's two more than the eagles have, so not sure what the point is. I'd rather choke on Sunday night and have two superbowls in the last several years, than lose on Monday night with 0. |

Point is past history means nothing for this weeks games. Point is, Officer Farva has no right breaking balls after the Eagle lose when the Giants were inept as they were. Point is, past Superbowls have zero relavance today |

Not sure if this was shared or not:
http://bleacherreport.com...s-own-draft-picks/page/23
Takes the NHL teams and makes a roster composed of draft picks only. It's flawed a little, but interesting IMHO IMO. Horrible goaltending...
