A lot of variables this season, particularly with young players making the roster. Looking forward to seeing how the continued changes impact the team.
- Marwood

Brandon Sutter
Sven Baertschi
Bo Horvat
Linden Vey
Radim Vrbata
Derek Dorsett
Brandon Prust
Matt Bartkowski
Ronald Kenins
Jacob Markstrom

That's ten new players in the past two season, this and last, for the club. That's a lot of new faces!! You could probably add Jake Virtanen and Frank Corrado to that list as well.

I am not sure if there are any more than in years past, but at least we have some new faces in the mix.

Although I think the talk is a little over rated (yet I want to talk about it...), I wonder if there will be much of an impact without WD on the ice or behind the bench for camp and preseason? Any sort of bias for a prospect or if JB has a trade in place to open a spot if anyone steps up?

Lets get this party started.

Which bottles do you recommend? We have limited selection of certain Okanagan wines here in AB but some can be tracked down. I did not manage to get to may favorite spots in the Okanagan this summer But I'd like to hear what you recommend.
- LordHumungous

Most of the wineries have some excellent bottles and some less so, so buyer beware, but safe bets are:

Marichel
Blue Mountain
Painted Rock
Joie and Summergate for the whites
La Stella and La Vieux Pin - same winemaker
Church and State.

As much as I love nuckers whining, I think virtanen will be better than that jets prospect.
- pker2theend

He will be. I had coffee this morning with one of the Jets head scouts and other than the game vs EDM in the young stars tourney, Jets brass do have a few concerns on Ehlers. But still a good pick.

Ehlers will take longer than Virtanen to be NHL-ready but both will have successful careers. Because of the different styles it's a bit unfair to compare the two, Ehlers will probably score more than Virtanen, but Virtanen might end up being the more complete player and hence more valuable.

BC wine is Tres expensive in Alberta. I'm a fan of Joie, Kettle Valley, Painted Rock, Lake Breeze, Blue Mountain... But really, *most* producers make a few good to great wines, and also make a few less then so.It's about the process, enjoy the journey.
- 1970vintage

Very expensive here for certain brands. Thx

Agreed and that's what I'm looking at the complete player status. I do think Ehlers will be good tho.

Cabs and Pinot Gris are very good.

I'm not a Pinot noir or Chardonnay fan, but all those wineries have great cabs and Pinot Gris.

Monster or blasted church are also good wines for a little cheaper.

Okanangan wine is pretty overpriced compared to California wine Imo.

Very true and I understand the fact that the BC wineries are taxed to death and shipping costs are astronomical...but $73 bucks for a bottle of Burrowing Owl Cab here in AB?? Obscene...
