Samson in the AHL isnt the worst idea in the world. Sabres have a lot of great pieces right now in their Top 9, but letting him play a AHL season wont hurt his development. The teams window to playoff contend really hasnt even started yet, so you arent wasting him developing in the AHL

I have faith the Avs will do the same, but have to think Murray and Management would not be afraid to dump a vet on waivers and into the AHL if their young guys blow them away at main camp.

The only reason Sam Reinhart should be in the AHL is if he looks like crap in camp and the preseason. If he's good enough to be here, then make room for him somehow. This team is nowhere near good enough to play a numbers game just because he's a certain age.

It's some what difficult to project Buffallo's roster with so many changes but with no camp yet I see it something like this.

Kane, O'Reilly, Ennis.
Moulson, Eichel, Girgensons.
McGinn, Legwand, Gionta.
Foligno, O'Reilly, McCormick.
Deslauriers.

I don't have Reinhart in yet baring injuries or a trade so something has to give & both Ennis will play a position he hasn't really played yet as a RW having lots of NHL time as both a C & LW. Girgensons did play RW when he 1st entered the NHL but moved to C last season. All kinds of options & scenario's. Camp will help clarify the cloudy situation.

Legwand to old to be in top 9. i really think Girgensons should be playing center because he such a good two way player. Cal o'Reilly does not make this team. Gionta and moulson will give eichel leadership to help him succeed at least to start season. Once he gets his feet wet this lineup should change.
