Wheres larssons in all this? If he continues his play from last year, he could hold down the #3C position allowing Gus to move up to a #2 wing position.
I would hope moulson would stay up there on the other wing. Just seems like a waste of money to have him down on the 3rd line.
Larssons/rinehart/veteran (gionta?) might do all right as a 3rd. |

Would anyone else like Murray to pursue Brock Nelson? I would say yes, only if he can trade a roster player or two (and most likely draft pick) to make it work.
How about Okoposo and Nelson as a package? |

I understand the contract dispute between the isles and Nelson. and the fact that Charles Wang is an eccentric nut job. But besides that, why would the islanders do that? They would probably want a legit return. I dont think we need to take two forwards off anyones hands and theres no way we're getting them for whats in the junk drawer of our 4th line candidates.

Plus the kid cooled WAAAAAY down last year after Christmas when people finally recognized what he was up to and started defending him for real. |

My wife has THE WORST Facebook friends. She keeps them for entertainment purposes but they make my brain melt. Just the type of people that think they are so (frank)ing sweet and that they are better than everyone at ever turn. - Buffalo--Sabres
I have a few friends that think they have life figured out, but they are due for a solid dose of reality. When you think you've created the perfect world for you to live in, you will not be prepared for when a disaster comes. That's the only reason I keep them around. The downfall will be sad, but fun to watch. |

I would rather watch the Islanders eat their words when they need him in the lineup and then have to have contract talks before the end of the season. |

Yea, I am not sure what he brings long term (or even this year, if the book is out on him already), but if they hold him out for the year (by not signing tomorrow) I can't imagine he would ever want to play for them and sign and offersheet with another team (if offered one).
This time of the year, most teams are not looking to make trades (or asking prices are way too high), but we will see what happens with Nelson. Hopefully they need to dump him for a low return, we will see. |

If you did that you would pretty much be emptying out the Rochester-level prospects. |

I have a few that I keep around for entertainment value. I won't lie. It's really amazing how incredibly stupid some people are. I especially like the people who air all of their dirty laundry and then get mad when people tell them "how to live their life." That might be my absolute favorite.
If you don't want people to give you recommendations on how to handle a situation, maybe you shouldn't post about it on social media where everyone can weigh in on it. |

At this point, I'd rather stand pat and see what we've got before we move around any more pieces. |

Unconfirmed sources have confirmed that Darcy Regier was spotted at the airport greeting Olli Jokinen with contract in hand. After 7 years it appears they are ready to finally seal the deal.

With it being a public dispute and Wangs weirdo rule of not letting a player on the ice if he's not signed before training camp, i would say the islanders have little or no leverage when you're talking just him.
Someone should offer sheet him the day after camp starts just to make Wang look like more of a wang than he already is. |

I tend to agree. That said, I don't know what Nelson's ceiling is. In a sense he might be more of a sure thing that the kids in Rochester so it could make sense to move someone for him. I like Okposo on a second line but he will be asking for 1st line money.
