Perhaps I'm unaware. But ever time I hear about pro athletes donating large amounts of money it always seems like it comes from hockey. Although I'm sure athletes from many other sports do the same. - vancity787
Im pretty sure labron james donated 45mil to send 1100 students to college/university. |

Heard about that. The guy handles himself better than I would if I was the best player on the planet and had hundreds on millions of dollars. So many people in his position would go cray cray. |

They released a statement saying they had intended to terminate his contract anyways. It's their thing. "Your contract is terminated, your contract is terminated, all your contracts are terminated!"

To protest your unhealthy Sbisa obsession I will purchase a Sbisa jersey.
If the team store actually carries one. |

Let's not go that far! But definitely the heir apparent to Hamhuis as the number 1 dman on this team except that Sbisa can actually play...... |

I think Sekeres brought reality to Canucks D for this upcoming season. He said Bartowski only has to be better that Bieksa was last year, who had a really tough year. Then he finished it by saying and Sbisa only has to be better than Sbisa was last year , and said how hard can that be?
He fully expects the D to be an improvement this year |
|
|
|
So Elliot Friendman is reporting that the team that wanted to trade for Ryan Miller last year was the Sharks.
WHY BENNING?? WHHHHY didn't you make that deal.
In my Opinion it was pride |

That's a good way to look at it. Plus Hamhuis and my boy Tanev missed games.
They aren't as deep though with Clendening/Stanton gone so if injuries hit it could get ugly. On the bright side it'll force WD to play to youth and could lead to a tank |

Just getting rid of the contract alone would have been great, maybe SJ wanted JB to eat some of the cap hit and wasn't offering much? Then I can understand not making the deal.
I was sceptical when Benning said that "teams called about Miller" but I guess he really does just only tell the truth. - Nucker101
I would have accepted a 7th.

Pride didn't get in the way of him trading Bonino after only a season, or Clendenning after even less. I think he genuinely thinks that Miller is the best option. I disagree, but what do I know.
I believe that Miller has some kind of NTC, so perhaps he vetoed it? You'd think it would be a desirable market to him considering its proximity to his wife's profession, but maybe he realizes that San Jose is at least as questionable going into the season as we are, or maybe he's realized that though hot, his wife is not actually very good at her job. |

I think he wants Miller to mentor Markstrom who is the goalie of the next 7 years for this team |
