you usually write things that make you sound like a ten year old and most of what you said is lame........as usual.......but you do bring an interesting point. Kings did let Voynov work out. I hope it was before all the facts were out. Or maybe they were not giving any credibility to the info they had at that point. Its kinda like getting fired and saying "I was going to quit anyway". |

perhaps the kings retain his rights as long as his contract is still valid and not terminated? not that it should ever be an issue at this point... |

This was quite possibly the worst possible outcome for Mrs. Voynov. If I were her, I would do everything in my power to stay here in the states. Don't even want to consider what Voynov might do to her now that they'll be living in a country that doesn't particularly care about human rights issues of any kind. Terrifying. Thankfully, mercifully, the Kings are now able to turn the page on Slava. |

Yep - Kings are retaining his rights, technically he owes them 4 more years if he ever returns
So much for the high moral Kings - Heck, they even let him practice with coaches last year
If the Kings walk as much talk as they spew, they would terminate his contract making him a FA, then he could return to Russia
There is nothing stopping them from also terminating the contract, they are choosing to keep him as an asset |

Talking about 'self deporting', I believe you will find if the truth is ever told is that he was probably going to be deported. Now him going before being deported sets the scene for an easier return to the US, or at least a 'possible' return.
Once you are deported from a country I doubt you will ever set foot in that country again. Voynov has for the moment at least set himself up to return.
I'll never know if the Kings would have terminated if Voynov hadn't been detained in ICE, but I see no advantage in them releasing details on what they would have done had he not left the country. Seems like the spin doctors taking over the press releases which is not good when they don't have to unless there was pressure being put on the organisation that wasn't publicised.
1 down 1 to go then maybe they can get back to hockey. |

How does this affect the Kings cap?
Do they now 4+ million to work with? |

the information is WRONG Jason.
he is SELF-DEPARTING... that means he can legally come back on another visa at a future date.
self-deporting means he's unlikely to be allowed back in...

the odds of him getting a visa again are pretty slim. and why wouldn't the kings keep his rights as an asset, even if they never want him to suit up for him again? if the league clears him to play, and another team is willing to trade for him, its stupid of them to lose that option. |

Because they should be making a stand and take the moral high ground that they are preaching
What would be fetch in a trade? Honestly? A 7th?
Is that really worth their so called principles?

The 2nd and 3rd pair is a little bit of a mess because you have 3 left handed shots and 1 righty (Greene). I'm guessing those 4 will rotate in pre-season to see who plays best where and we'll see who gets popped in the lefty-lefty combination. Jamie McBain, a righty, is probably the 7th dman.
Martin Jones: Vezina if Paul Martin works out? Maybe. |

I don't think the organization cares that they have retained his rights. Pretty sure NJD retained Kovi's rights. Because Kovi and Voynov both skipped out on their contracts (albeit while Voynov was suspended), the teams they bolted from retain their rights so this can't be used as a way to circumvent free agency. And you know the Kings want to follow the rules, right? |

Im glad you feel good about Jonesy, we just have a question mark still. You guys would know his upside better than anyone. Martin should help Burns tremendously.
I forgot you guys got Error, hope he does good because I always liked the guy. Hope he reined in that wild shot he had. |

I like Jones a lot. Positioning is stellar and he's a big body. Not the fastest goalie but his positioning makes up for it. I think he was a great pickup. I'm not going to fuss about the cost you guys paid because that is TBD. |
