A while back I brought up the question as to whether McGinn makes it here past deadline day. If he's done well, he may hit it big in FA like you said. Why pay him that when you've got several guys who are projected to be decent to above average top 9 fwds playing in the minors at a fraction of the cost? And if he plays poorly would you even want him back? If you turn him into a decent draft pick it could help address other areas of need. - Sabresfan-365
It's a good plan to may be get a pick or two or a prospect off of a playoff team if he plays well this season. Restock the cupboards a little and promote someone waiting in line for an NHL job.
I think we're in good shape with bottom 6/plug-in players.

Idk i just go back to Millers mask and it just looks so good. Like a work of art. Lehners mask just looks cheap? pretty sure millers was hand painted. i think most masks are made on the computer now and wrapped idk plus i hate when they leave the "vaughn" or Bauer" logo on the front. Miller never had that on there. |

That's one of my favorites too. The red eyes look nasty with the contrast of the blue/gold. |

I think you make a compelling argument, but Moulson needs to have a spot in the top 6. - chilliard77

not so sure he could keep up with Eichel - Michael Pachla
If Eichel gets sheltered offensive zone faceoffs, that could be ideal. Plus with Girgensons, the speed is there for him.
If Moulson is the trailer on an odd man rush, that's not a bad finisher coming in a step or two behind. |

And o'reilly is not as fast as Kane. So does that mean they shouldnt play together? |

A big part of what makes Eichel so special is his skating ability. He's a powerful, fast skater. He needs to have guys on either side that can keep up with him. Girgs is a good fit. Kane has the speed, but likes to carry the puck like Eichel does.
Moulson isn't the best skater. He worked well with Tavares because while Tavares is a great talent, his skating is his "Achilles heel" if you will. On a PP unit, it would probably work fine, but for regular shifts, not sure it's the best option. |

I think that was just his point. My post above shows that I think Moulson should play with Eichel and Girgensons. |

Moreover, from the blog itself:
Back in the day NHL lines featured three players all with the same skill-level who found chemistry and just tortured the opposition--"The French Connection" in Buffalo, "Legion of Doom" in Philly and "West Coast Express" out in Vancouver are a few examples. But times have changed.
Generally Pachla's stuff is really good, but I feel like he decided he wanted to make a stretch on this one, and find a way to justify it, and it just came out all wrong.

Yea I hear ya but I dont think that you need a burner on either side of Eichel. I think just having a guy playing with him with goal scoring experience is most important right now. IMO Moulson is just not an ideal fit for this team. Hes one dimensional and not very versatile. But he is a proven scorer in the league which is desirable. Either way he needs to be in the top 6 |
