Logically I don't see a spot without there being an injury for him in the regular 12 and generally the beginning of season is a tough time to trade a forward as most teams have too many and are trying to sneak guys through waivers or are able to pick guys up for nothing through waivers.

I think to make room for him, you will essentially need to give a forward away.

- belcherbd

I dont see a spot either. The poop thing is trying to make a room for him due to the time of the year your going to have to sell a guy on the cheap to make room for him or another prospect. Which I dont want to happen at all cus we have done that plenty over the last couple years already.

Hunting favoring the hunter 100%. You are really in the dark about hunting obviously. It's not in a boxing ring. success rate is very low every time you go out. If you are good... better but always in fair chase it favors the animal greatly unless it's a cull hunt. Some guides offer 100% success rate... but such a tiny minority of hunters can afford those hunts. Almost all hunts are do it yourself.

I have no argument to put up for someone who doesnt understand the thrill. What argument is there? .. People have it or they dont.

You are a gatherer... back in the stone age you'd be picking berries and weaving baskets while lefty and I were out hunting. The chicks would dig us big time but point talk rumors about your man parts(all lies of course).

I hate to break it to you, but we are no longer living in the stone age, where hunting was necessary to survive (which as I've noted, I don't have a problem with - if you are hunting to provide food for you and your family etc). But you are right, it comes down to the fact that you either get a thrill from killing something or you don't, and I'm firmly in the latter group.

Also, you will note I never said hunting was easy - and you are right, in that I don't know much of the minutiea - my underlying perspective, however, is that the animals have no chance against man and his weapons/resources.

Lastly, it's a fallacy (at best) to suggest that animals are 'dumb and useless'. But that is another topic and for a different forum than a hockey site.

P.S. chicks also dig the renaissance man/sensitive type and like a man who doesn't have to kill things in order to prove himself and be comfortable as a human being

• Vrbata likes the idea of playing with Horvat, calls him "the best option." He doesn't know much about Sutter. cs.

I hope Vrbata gets what he wants.

Hunting is EXTREMELY hard, unless you're a trained marksman or manage to set up a perfect hunting blind and an animal literally walks in and stops and stays PERFECTLY STILL in your kill zone, you'll be forced to chase your target. Shooting something that's faster, more agile and more skittish than anything and moves is harder than you'd believe it to be. Animals have better senses than humans and are smarter than you'd give them credit for. I hunted myself for a few season with a bow and arrow and that was an exercise in frustration and a half.

If there is one thing we know about Benning, is that where there is smoke (Miller, Bartkowski,Virtanen, Sutter) there is almost always fire.

I think it is pretty clear they have made a spot available for Virtanen. I wonder if WD will be able to get the players to be happy rotating through the press box or if it will mean a player is moved.

Most interesting quote from there IMO is that Vey as aware that he was gifted a great opportunity last season and that it might have affected the team chemistry.

Like his honestly and looking forward to seeing if he did enough to get stronger in the offseason.

- belcherbd

Benning said he thinks there are 3 kids who have a shot at a spot. Virt, McCann and Cassels.
I think McCann will be the 4th line center ala horvat

I think that hunting for sport is a barbaric practice. The only time I could condone hunting is if it is to feed yourself or your family. I just don't get the 'thrill' of killing what is essentially a defenceless animal
- Zogg

For me it all depends on how you use what you kill. I'm not a hunter personally, but I do eat meat and if I'm being honest, I think that an animal harvested via hunting is much more humane than the almost assembly line way that grocery stores get their meat, where the animals entire lives are spent in cages that they can hardly turn around in, forced to eat things that they never would in nature, and pumped full of hormones and steroids.

That said, bear baiting or just in general killing something just for the sake of it, without any intention of harvesting what you kill is ridiculous.

Also, bears are about as far from defenceless as you can get. They look magestic from a distance but up close they are all teeth, claws, muscle and rage.

Harder at this time of the year to trade role/depth players. Teams could've just signed a similar player this summer so why give up a 3rd now? Especially for Higgins, Hansen is a different story.

I have no major issues with Virtanen as a player or prospect. I actually wouldn't mind seeing him get 9 games.

Thus making Virt the bpa.

I don't. All I said was that I prefer Ehlers but both are fine prospects and then it turns into WW3.
