None of the 3 have looked bad. None the 3 have looked top 6. Laughton I'd say has impressed me. Schenn looked okay during line work but 1 on 1 he got schooled by Manning and gudas.... yeah - Tfaehner

That's pretty much how it's been going.
I always get good dough for Rangers/Leafs/Penguins games.....and actually, you can throw the Wings in that group too. I've never had trouble selling off a game they are playing the Wings. Lots of Wings fans in the area for some weird reason. - johndewar
I get good value off west coast teams as well. Blues Chicago are other good sellers |

Wings fans are the NHL version of Steelers fans: they're everywhere, and they travel fairly well (not as well as TML/Habs fan, though). I would wager that, if I went to every game this year buying tix on the secondary market, it would average out to less than my STH price is. |

He's just trying to make them feel good.
And then, as soon as they start feeling good, BAM, slap shot the the balls. |

I occasionally sell my STH tickets for a price and than upgrade my seats to 1st 2 rows for less than 10$ a ticket. |

I was under the impression that they were our 4th pairing defensemen |

Notable line from today's scrimmage umberger - vinny - Gagner - Tfaehner
Might be hard to read into line combos since it's a split practice today. half squad morning, half squad afternoon |

No one is trading for luke schenn before the season unless
A. Flyers eat half the cap hit and also send a pick.
b. Flyers take back a salary dump contract in a trade
No one wants luke schenn for 1.7 mil even if flyers eat half the cap hit without the flyers swallowing something else |

.... the entire expected flyers roster practiced this morning. The rookies prospects are practicing later. The split squad is really Phantoms and flyers honestly |

Really? This is what Bill said in his blog:
Group A will hit the ice at 9:45 a.m. EDT with Group B slated to start at 1:00 p.m. EDT. There is no word on which players will be assigned to which group.
Maybe something changed.
EDIT: Just re-read your comment, so the first squad was pretty much the main roster? |

Roster this morning:
Raffl G Jake
Umberger vinny Gagner
Porter Laughton Schenn
Read coots simmonds
Vv Bellemare white
D
Streit Schultz
MDZ Medvedev
Macdonald gudas
Schenn Manning
G
Mason
Neuvirth
Gudas has looked like one the best defenseman on the ice. His passing is crisp. And he had a heck of a set up to coots who drilled one past mason. |

So Schenn - AMac? - jmatchett383
I think thats a fine third pair. People get too caught up in the money. Just slot the defenseman as if they all have the same salary. |

Thats actually a really good comparison.
Steeler fans are the worst though. For some reason their reputation isn't as bad as Eagles fans, but they're way worse. |

Don't be so sure.
1.) Fat Schenn's salary isn't THAT bad.
2.) He's still reasonably young
3.) He's right handed.
4.) He is a physical presence.
5.) His first pass out of the zone isn't a complete bomb.
6.) He's considered a "good guy in the room" by all accounts.
7.) His contract expires at the end of this year.
He's not what he was drafted to be, but there are much worse out there. And I am FAR from being a supporter of either Schenn brother. |

Huh. Yeah, it's Day 1, but three of those lines and the D-pairings sure smell like something the coach is looking to roll with, don't they?
Doesn't mean there won't be changes, but man, those D-pairings might be exactly how they break camp, and L1, plus Couturier's and Bellemare's line...just don't know how much those change. Really don't think they will, TBH
To me, I wonder if it might be as simple as Hakstol isn't sure about just five guys, to varying degrees: B. Schenn, Laughton, Umberger, Wheels and Gagner

Although some spots should be earned or merit, I'm hoping Porter won't be in the top-9. |

Absolutely -- I didn't list him. I'd be stunned if he broke camp with them
Not saying he won't get some games, but with Wheels on an NMC, I'd be stunned if there was room for Porter in Game 1 |

I think they are fighting for third line those 5. I don't think he believes vinny is effective in a 4th line role he's top 9 or press box. Porter I believe is just a fit for left wing needed to fill out the 5 lines. Big question is if Schenn and Gagner can both only be effective in a top 9 role at right wing. Where do they go if the other 3 lines are set? |

Well, I figure that Raffl, Giroux, Voracek, Schenn, Read, Couturier, and Simmonds are locks to make the team. I figure that Gagner and Umberger are virtual locks. That means that only 3 of Vinny, Porter, Laughton, VdV, Bellemare, and White can round out the lineup (assuming no one from the other group impresses). That's a hefty task. |
